We were booked at PC for 6 nights at the ap rate, which was awesome :) , and today we decided to call just for the heck of it and see about splitting our stay with a deluxe resort. Well, I just about fell out of my chair when we got the WL for $121 a night, INCLUDING TAX, for our last three nights!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: Isn't that awesome??? These ap rates are so great, I just can't believe it. We also considered doing AKL savannah view, but decided we wanted to be closer to MK for the kids. :)

I'm so excited!!!! I've never stayed at WL before. :) I can't wait to dig up the special box!! ;)

You've been changing your plans for this trip a lot, huh? Well, I'm sure you'll love WL. It's a great resort, it was actually our first WDW resort.

Have fun! Don't forget to take lots of pictures! ;)

Yeah... we started with CSR, then changed to PC, and now we're splitting PC with WL. ;) Who knows what it will be by tomorrow. :teeth:

How about the Contemporary? Did I ever tell you how much I enjoyed our 12th floor room with an AWESOME view of the Magic Kingdom, the Lagoon, and the GF & Polynesian? ;) Krispy Kreme doughnuts every morning in the club lounge, too. ::MickeyMo

They only had the wing available. But it's on my list of resorts to try. :) I don't have many left. ;)

How much does this AP Rate membership cost per year? And I hear it's only worth it if a person goes more than once within 356 days??? What are the requirements of obtaining AP membership? They have some awesome deals. WL for $121--wow!!!::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

AP refers to Annual Passport. it's a season pass that allows access to all 4 major parks subject to some blackout dates. We are holders of PAP-Premium Annual Passport. The PAP allows unlimited access to all 4 major parks, the water parks, disney quest and Pleasure Island 365 days a year to include parking. The cost for the PAP is about $500. renewal is about $430 I think. the AP is somewhere around $350 I think. you can check the exact prices on disney's site under tickets. In general, the break even point is about 8 days for the AP and about 10 days for the PAP. So, if you think you'll be visiting WDW for more than 10 days during any calendar year; it would be a good deal. Also, the benefits that come with the PAP are absolutely priceless!! The freedom to come and go anywhere at anytime, to go to a park just for one ride it you want is worth it's weight in gold and make the PAP's a great deal. Now to sweetin' the pot: you get AP rates for disney resorts......wooowww!!!! last year we stayed 14 nights at CSR for $74 per night AP rate! That was a savings of $55 per night....14X55=$770 savings on the resort rooms alone.
To make AP's or PAP's an even better deal: plan your vacations this way: this year you go say the last two weeks in June...next year, go the first two weeks in June and your tickets are still good. we've been doing our disney trips this way since 1995 and we basically get two disney vacations per year for the price of one by purchasing the PAP's. hope this helps....sorry so long, but I just love this concept.

Erika,

WL is awesome!!!!!!! When I looked for the memory box it was hidden under some yucky brush! Whispering Canyon is so much fun. We had a blast at WL!!!!!!

kevind75 - We have annual passes and there are no blackout dates. I think you might be confused with the Florida resident seasonal pass... it does have blackout dates.

purplebelle - The ap isn't a good deal unless you're going to spend at least 8 days a year in WDW. It's a great deal if you plan to go for a long trip, or more than once. :) We got about 30+ days out of our ap's last year. :) That's like spending $10 per day. :) The ap discounts at the resorts are awesome. Values for $55, moderates for $85, etc.

Purplebelle, we are also going next December. We have not taken two trips to WDW within the same year and usually purchase park hoppers or park hopper plus passes. We will be following the AP discussions and if we can get an AP discount next December then we will purchase ONE AP (probably in dh's name as he can use military discount). You don't have to decide to get the AP til you know if the discount is available. I've read lots of advice about the staying 8+ days or making two trips for it to be cost-saving, but if the Poly rates are $400+ without AP and $250 with AP then buying the AP would be worth it. For our one-week stay the savings could be over $1000 - certainly worth the additional cost of the AP over the PHP pass!

Just another thought.

Have a great time! I really, really like WL. It's so cozy and welcoming.:D

Ditto what TigrLvsPooh said. Annual passes do not have blackout dates. It's the FL resident Seasonal pass that has blackout dates- usually around Easter, peak summer months, and Christmas/New Years. It's a great deal, however. All the advantages and discounts of a regular AP for about the same price as a 4 day hopper.

that is awesome news Erika! what a Happy New Year it will be for you!!! :):D

Laura :D

Ooh, great explanations everyone. That was really helpful. Definitely something to think about...::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo
