Decided on POFQ until I saw....

We stayed at POFQ and never had a problem with the sinks. The ledge had plenty of room to store all of the bottles and jars that 3 women and one child can accumulate.

Not to mention that just to the side of the sinks is a large "open closet" where the shoe holder can go within direct reach of the sink area, but also a very large extra shelf about a foot wide, and at least 5 feet long. I put lots of stuff up there, too. My husband calls me the "Product Queen" because of all the stuff I take with me everywhere, and my sons both say that if you need oil for you car while you're on a trip, Mom has it in her luggage!:)

Pedestal sinks wouldn't be my first choice as far as functionality goes, but they've never stopped us from staying there. Riverside has them, too, and we love it there. They really are part of the theme more than anything.

Don't let it make or break your choice. They're fine.

No way was this "el cheapo." Pedestal sinks are more expensive than a the kind that go in a countertop. Also it was done to go along with the theme of the room. I think they look lovely. I would never want one in my house due to storage concerns, unless it was a huge bathroom with lots of other storage options, but for a week or a few days, it's perfect. The ledge holds a lot and they really add to the look and feel of the French Quarter theme. It was one of the things I liked most about the room!

Yep, it definitely wasnt a cost cutting move by Disney. We have a pedestal sink in our 3rd bathroom and it was pretty costly. I love the look of it in our spare bathroom, but when Im on vaca, sink space is a premium for us =)

I loved the post about it not being about the sinks, but the "sink habits".:rotfl:

And I love PO. If water does go everywhere, it's only water. Right? :thumbsup2

When are you going? We are going April 2008 and we will probably stay at POFQ again. We loved it! We really have thought about staying at CBR but they main pool will be under refurb starting the first of 08 until the middle of 08 I believe. So that is what helped make our decision. The sinks were not a problem at POFQ. So don't worry!:)
