After much thought I finally decided on POFQ for our 2008 trip. Have stayed at WL and CBR resort before. But then I started looking at pictures and ACK!!!!they have two pedastal sinks! Doesn;t the water end up all over the place? I really liked the double sinks build into the counter at both WL and CBR.

WL is out of the question due to budget and I've already done CBR twice, felt like with all Disney has to offer, I need to try a new resort.

Are the sinks a pain in the neck? I know it's only a sink, but I really like the extra counter space you get with built in sinks.

POFQ lovers, convince me this isn't a big deal:confused3

We prefer the sinks at CBR over PO as well. If you are wanting to try a different resort though, I definitely wouldnt let the sinks be the deciding factor.

It never bothered us. I guess it's just personal preference. There is a ledge that can hold things, and we always have the shoe holders for the toiletries.

We stayed at POFQ for 10 nights with 2 kids and the sinks never posed a problem. There is a ledge right above the sinks that gives quite a bit of storage space.

Unless the kids are playing with boats or bathing in the sinks, I can't imagine how water would get "all over the place." When you have a countertop, does water get all over the countertop? If so, then the problem might be with your sink habits, and not so much with the sinks.

I stayed at POFQ in February and I just loved it. The resort is so pretty and calming, and I thought the rooms were very nicely and tastefully decorated. I really liked it a lot, and thought the pedestal sinks were a charming touch. If you're worried about storage space, there is a nice ledge above the sinks that is plenty big enough to hold all your stuff.

We've stayed at CBR and POFQ and I never even noticed that the sinks were different. Of the two, we preferred POFQ by far. It's just such a small and beautiful resort!

As the other posters said, don't sweat the sinks- there is a long shelf over both sinks that you can put your stuff on!

Not to throw a monkey wrench into the plan, but CSR is a mod and it has the built in sink.

We have used the ledge at POR and it was fine, but I too, prefer the counter.

Good luck!

I don't like the sinks either. The shelf is not big enough. (And I am not packing a shoe holder.....) I think this was a Disney "el cheapo" move...

As you can see below we LOVE POFQ. I am a girl who LOVES her personal "products" and who has MANY products that travel with me everywhere I go. (think lotions, creams, hair spray, etc...you get the picture) I used the ledge above the sink and had PLENTY of room for everything. (travel size and full size) I say go for POFQ!!!

Ok, I'm a moron, what is the shoe holder? Is that something in the room. I asked DW and she didn't know either. Is it the same as the luggage stand?

You bring your shoe holder from home. They have pockets to put your shoes in... only DISers use it to store their toiletries at the resort. They are about 5' long and sometimes made out of vinyl and cloth. They fold flat in your suitcase. They can be found at Walgreens and places like that. They are inexpensive. You hang the shoe organizer in the closet at the resort and keep your deodorant, sunglasses, sun screen, toothbrushes, etc in the pockets. We never forget ours! Great idea!

No way was this "el cheapo." Pedestal sinks are more expensive than a the kind that go in a countertop. Also it was done to go along with the theme of the room. I think they look lovely. I would never want one in my house due to storage concerns, unless it was a huge bathroom with lots of other storage options, but for a week or a few days, it's perfect. The ledge holds a lot and they really add to the look and feel of the French Quarter theme. It was one of the things I liked most about the room!

If your last trips were at WL and CBR, keep in mind that CBR has the largest rooms of any moderate and POR and POFQ are slightly smaller. Room size may actually be more important than sink setup. :)

We stayed at POFQ for a week and didn't have any trouble with the sinks. My husband shaved in it every day, we all brushed our teeth, washed out hands etc.

The shelf above the sinks was more than ample for toiletries for three people. The sinks are right next to the "closet" and there's another shelf above the clothes rack.

Oh my gosh, that's awesome! What a great idea!

That's true, but CSR only has 1 sink, right? I'd like having that 2nd sink! I'm sure it might not matter to some people but it is a big factor to me.

if the sinks bothers you, then I think the size of the room is going to make you FREAK if your used to CBR or WL...

MAybe it's just me and my family (wife, 7 year old and 4 year old), but except for accidents we don't wind up with water all over our bathroom countertops. I don't end up mopping/wiping up water from the areas around our sinks after we use them. So based on that background, I don't understand your strong concern about water ending up all over the place at POFQ.

We love CBR, and we love POFQ. The very reason we chose POFQ for our last trip is because even though we'd loved CBR from our previous 2 visits we wanted to try something different, and we're glad we did. We love CBR because it's spread out and tranquil, but we love POFQ because it's cozy and convenient.
