Decent flights out of Flint

Just saw that Southwest has direct flights out of Flint to Orlando in August for around $230.00 return. We were going to drive, but now I'm not sure....

We just booked our first xmas trip from Flint on Southwest to Tampa leaving on Dec 23 rd return Jan 3 rd.$204 roundtrip each. So $816 roundtrip for 4. My Aunt did an exchange with RCI for us at Orange Lake.

Just wondering if I should book EBCI from Flint to tampa or just che check in at the 24 h mark. Any suggestions?

We are flying out of Flint in September. $1100 for the 5 of us, 2 free checked bags each. We paid for the early bird to be safe.

We are booked for Disney August 19th-27th and were also going to drive. We usually fly out of Detroit and found the prices way higher than in past years. I just booked this morning for less than $230 a person out of flint. On top of that I noticed parking is way way cheaper than in Detroit.

We drove in March and if we really needed a car at Disney that may have been different but I have some airmiles and will just get the car for the time I have the miles for.


The only thing that scares me is I have never flown southwest and I'm not to sure about this whole boarding policy but my kids are teens so I don't have the worry of them not being able to sit with me.

We have never flown Southwest eithier. We usually fly Jetblue or Airtran out of Buffalo, in March. But doing a Xmas trip I did what was cheapest, and couldn't beat the price out of Flint. We live in Northern Ontario, about 6 hours to Pearson, around 7 to Buf or 7.5 to Flint. (we can stopover at my sisters in the Sault though) I did pay for EBCI yesterday, but the same as you, my girls will be 12 and almost 14, so they can sit by themselves, but prefer being with me. I will try it, it may be a new fav for me. I love the 2 bags free though. I am actually going to take a bag that has my two fav pillows in it, because one of my biggest complaints of any hotel, is I miss my pillows. Good luck let me know how it goes.

Thanks to this thread, I booked my parents in for August The rest of us are driving down (will still save about $200, plus we really like the drive), but my parents can't handle it so we've always planned for them to meet us down there. Fantastic times both ways, non-stop flights (that's pretty unusual nowadays), and under $230 pp r/t! I've flown Southwest and I've been happy with it

I can't believe how many threads are on the boards about Southwest out of Flint. It will become popular and they will stay, but hope the prices stay decent. Funny cause Airtran has been flying out of there up until April, and hardly any threads on it. Good luck to everyone flying out. I am looking forward to a trip to birchrun to pick up a few things before we fly out!
