Hi- Going to Disney in December:cool1: For those of you who've been at that time of the year, what is on your must do list?
Thanks for your insights!
Lauren

Be sure to see the Osborne Spectical of Lights and I also suggest seeing the light g of the castle presentation. That is just beautiful to watch the "ice" form on the castle!

In forgot to mention to be sureto go to the Grand Floridian and seemthe gingerbread house.

Osborne Lights!!!!! this was the most amazing thing best by far
Castle lighting
MVMCP b/c of the parade
The Gingerbread House @ GF

Definitely the Osborne lights at HS...!! Also, this past December we did the candlelight processionaL for the first time,l ( WITH the dinner package), at epcot, and really enjoyed it! Have a great time!

I just went this past Christmas for the first time ever and it was spectacular! In fact, I think we are going to go again this year.

Here is what we did that was special for Christmas wise.

Candlelight Processional (no dinner package)- Depending on what time of the year you may not need it. We went around the beginning of December to the middle of the show and we got in no problem! This would be a must do for us. If you like "church" music and really pretty Christmas songs I would highly recommend.

Osbourne Lights- not much to say but def a must do

Jingle Jungle Jammin Parade at AK- its cute but its not much different than the other parade but I do like the music!

Castle Lighting Ceremony- def a must do!!!! Sooo Magical!!!!

Mickeys Very merry Christmas Party- if you have the money do it! It was our favorite thing that we did this trip. It was so special being on Main Street when it snowed.

Storytellers- I saw Germany(helga and nutcracker) and Father Christmas (UK). It was neat to see a couple but I wouldn't make it a point to see everyone.

Various Santa Clauses and Mrs Clauses..I only went to see them in American Pavilion and they were adorable. Great picture spot!! They are at Downtown Disney and Magic Kingdom as well but I did not see what they looked like there.

Deluxe Resorts(in order of favorite)- Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Beach Club, Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Polynesian, Contemporary. Honestly I liked Pop Century's(where we stayed) decorations better than Contemporary and Polynesian.

If you are going to be there a while try to fit as much in. There was nothing we wished we didn't do. And we didn't know when we would back for the Holidays but hopefully we are going this year again =)

Of the storytellers in Epcot's WS, Norway is our favorite. If you have the time to see all of them, it is very interesting to learn about all the different customs, but it would take up a lot of your time.

Hello fellow December traveler! :santa:
We went in December 2009 (first week of December) and had a magical time, and are going back in December 2011 (first week again), this time with my parents (their first trip! So excited!)

Like the others have said, the Orbourne Spectacle od Dancing Lights in DHS is a must do (we went twice in 2009). I get chills just thinking about it!

We loved the Candlelight Processional as well. Hadn't planned on seeing it two years ago, but we joined the line near the start of the show, and were still able to get good spots. It's a great show!

If you can afford it, the MVMCP is a must, although personnaly, I thought it was expensive for what it was. I'm glad I did it once, but if we were going back without my parents, not sure I'd pay that price again for it. Since it'll probably be my parents' only trip, we'll definitely do it again though.

Seeing the Cinderella Castle lighting ceremony is a must, it's so magical!

Also, we loved visiting a few of the deluxe resorts, to see the decorations and huger trees in the lobbies (Grand Floridian, Fort Wilderness and Animal Kingdom Lodge were my favorites).

But most importantly, wear santa hats! We wore our santa hats and stripped scarves all week long, and I'm already on the hunt for better accessories for our next trip :)

Have fun!
