We are planning a 4 night cruise the 1st week in December. How is the weather? What clothes should I pack. I was planning on doing our shopping for the cruise soon since all the summer clothing sales are coming up. How many swim suits should I bring? Will I need extra outfits? I was planning on bringing one outfit for the day, and one for the night. I really don't want to do any laundry on my vacation if at all possible. Thanks for your help you guys have been great!

We have done two trips in December, both during the first full week of the month. Each one was a land and sea package.

On the first one (with the Big Red Boat) we had very cool weather in the mornings and evenings with a short time in the afternoon where we could go without a jacket. We didn't even go into the pool. During the cruise it was very windy, large waves, cool and rainy at the start. In Nassau we didn't have rain but it was cloudy all day. We never made it to the private island, lots of wind and rain. On our full day at sea we finally had warm sunny weather.

The second trip was in 1999. The weather was perfect for the entire trip. Lots of warm sun, small waves and got some swimming in each day. The water at CC was a little cool and took a little getting use to but we got some snorkling in. Couldn't have asked for better weather.

You'll will probably need to pack for both types of weather.

It will be hit or miss. Hopefuly you will hit it just right.

We typically sail in late November, and it's almost always warm enough to swim. Only once has it been too chilly! But remember, when you sail in the winter months (Dec., Jan., Feb.), your chances of missing Castaway Cay are greater. The odds are still with you (in 37 cruises, most of which are in the winter, we've never missed it), but keep that in mind. We always pack a couple of sweat shirts and jeans for winter sailing. The great thing about Dec. is the decoratons at the port, on the ship, and at Castaway Cay.
