Can anyone let me know what weather to expect in December?

I'm thinking it'll be shorts and t-shirt/jeans still but maybe a sweatshirt for early mornings/evenings? Am I right? I know it's a little premature but I was just thinking about which clothes we're going to be taking.

Would we need a coat at all?

Where do I start?

2003 was cold, 2005 was ok-ish, and 2007 was very hot! This sounds like Goldilocks, but it is true!

It can even change dramatically from day to day.

My advice? Pack a swimsuit and a fleece coat :thumbsup2

DS and I were there from December 14th to 21st last year and we were horrified how cold it was! I don't know if this was an unseasonal blip but I'd only brought cropped trousers and resorted to going out wearing my bed socks with Crocs (a horrid look!) as I was freezing! We ended up buying fleeces and hats to try and keep warm. It was warmer at LGW when we returned... :sad2:

We were there from 7th to 27th December in 2006 and again last year for the same peiod. 2006 was lovely all the way up until Xmas Eve, then the heavens opened and it literally rained all Xmas Day but wasn't cold. The wetaher last year was amazing. I wore a jacket on just 1 day. We swam every single day and went to Blizzard Beach 5 times. Think I may have worn a cardigan a couple of times at night but never really felt cold. Back from 5th to 27th again this December and praying our good luck with wetaher continues but if it doesn't it will still be great.

We were there last year from 22nd - 31st December. It was cool early in the morning and again in the evening but we were still fine in jeans and just long sleeves, no coats required. During teh day it was gorgeous and it was too hot to wear jeans and long sleeves. We spent a day at BB and I hate the cold so it has to be warm for me to swim!! We only got one day of rain and that was our last day.

Have a great trip :)

Average temp is reported to be high of 73 and lows of 53 , we to are going at xmas from the 11th Dec to the 2nd Jan I think I will take a bit of summer clothes and then a few warm clothes just is case I was hoping to be swiming in my pool on Xmas day . If the weather turns really cold I suppose it is a good excuse to go shopping :rotfl2: :cheer2:

We've been the first two weeks in Dec several times. I would say be prepared for any type of weather! :thumbsup2 seriously over the space of two weeks we've gone from wearing swimsuits to coats, scarves and gloves :beach: :umbrella: :cold:

We were there last year from the 8th to the 27th December and thought the weather was really good. i think it cooled down a little for the week you were there and there was 1 particularly cold day when we went shopping to escape the chill, but the first week we were walking round parks till midnight wearing just t shirts and the last week we spent a good few days around the pool.

Thank you so much for all your help. I think I shall take a mixture and be covered for all weathers.

Me too - I was starting to wonder about what to take so this has helped. Thanks. :thumbsup2

I was actually just going to ask the same question so glad I found you! Since our flight stops and plan starts in NY, then to Mexico, then to WDW, then to Chicago we should be prepared for everything!

I am glad I ran across this post myself, we are going from Dec, 26th through Jan. 6th, if anyone will be there during that time, maybe we'll run into each other.
