December Visit

We are planning a visit to DW the week before Christmas. Has anyone been around then? Weather, crowds?

Our last trip (2008) was that week and it was perfect. The crowd levels were very low - there was a distinct increase as it got closer to Christmas. The weather was great cool enough to be comfortable, yet warm enough for the kids to get in the pool (they are heated). However, winter weather in Florida is very unpredictable- it can be belowfreezimg one year and in the 80s another - there are no guarantees.
Have a great trip - we will be there for NYE and the marathon this year.

We have been several times, the week before Christmas. Early in the week the crowd levels are great. Each day closer to Christmas, the crowd level builds. Year before last, we opted to avoid the parks completely on the 23rd because the crowds had gotten pretty crazy the day before. We chose to resort hop and enjoy all of the decorations instead. We had a wonderful time!

I agree with the previous poster. The weather is completely unpredictable. We have had beautiful mild weather, highs around 80 and freezing cold, winter weather- hats, gloves, coats,etc.!!!


Disney at Christmastime is spectacular! The parks and resorts are beautiful. The caste is extraordinary, candlelight processional is beautifully done and the osborne lights are great too! The holiday parades are fabulous!!! After the final Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom, the holiday Wishes fireworks and holiday parade begin daily! It truly is a wonderful time to visit!

Thank you both for your relpies. I'm really looking forward to this trip. First time with my children and husband. Third trip in all...my Dad's coming too, whom I haven't been to DW with since I was a child.
