Hi! It does seem like a lot of people planning Dec. trips. We are thinking about 12/10-12/16. We were there last November (6-12) and it was still pretty warm--upper 80's and heavier crowds that I expected. Does anyone have any ideas about weather and crowd levels for mid-December. Our kids, DD 5 and DS 2, just loved it last year and would be thrilled to go again! Any input/suggestions on weather/crowds would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

We are going 12/9 - 12/15. It's our first trip in December and everyone I've talked to has said it's the perfect time to go.

We are going Dec 15-22 and from what I have gathered that week will start to get more crowded as you get closer to Christmas. I am not worried though. We are Tour Guide Mike followers so I have faith that we won't have to worry about crowds/lines with his plans.

As for weather I have heard it can be all over the place in December so we are packing a little of everything and probably layering to be warm enough in the early morning and remove things as the day warms up.

We were there last December 16-19th and it was a little of everything. I wore shorts, but mainly jeans. It rained a little, but was always confortable. The nights get cool, but even then it's a lot better than being here in upstate NY in mid-December. We liked it so much we're headed back this December 13-17th, luv Disney at Christmastime.

We were there that week in 2003, and we thought the weather and crowds were great. We started most days in jackets and/or sweatshirts, but were in T-shirts by the afternoons. We mostly wore Capri pants or jeans, but my DH did wear shorts a few days. The nights get cooler as well, so plan to wear layers.

We are going 12/9-12/16 and I've been told to expect both extremes - to pack shorts and winter coats and gloves. I was hoping to not have to take a heavy coat, but I will just in case. However, I'm glad to hear about possibly wearing shorts. My DH said there is no way it will get warm enough to wear shorts. I said it's Florida, you have to wear shorts

How about pools and waterparks? Did anyone dare to try these in December? I've heard the pools are heated, but will we be cold when we get out?

HI. We are going Dec 1-10, our first Christmas trip. In April a CM told up this was the best time to go. I have read mixed reviews on the board and when I called the reservations line the rep told me that slow December’s were a thing of the past. I am still so excited to go and will make the best of it, after all I WILL BE IN DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

The week before Christmas last year was pretty cold, especially in the mornings and evenings. However, I think the weather the week before and the week after our trip was somewhat warmer. You just never know what to expect weather-wise at that time of the year. I grew up in Winter Park and have some Christmas pictures of all of us in shorts and others of everyone all bundled up against the cold.
