I am trying to plan a trip for December and I just called to get a quote for the port of orleans. December 14-19 she said that woudl be considered value season the price per night is $133. I would like to know if that is a good price or do they offer discounts for that time of year> I don't know if I should book the room or not. Also how much do I need to plan on budgeting for food for 2 adults and a 4 year old

I'll be interested in hearing the answer to your question too. We are planning to go in December from the 14th to the 21st. We haven't decided if we want to step up to a king room at POR or if we want to just go back to ASMu with a king bed again. The key aspect for us is the deal. I love buying lots of collectibles, but I wouldn't mind trading up to a little better room this time. Mickey

I'll be there that same week as well! :) As far as discounts, they probably won't be posted until sometime in Sept or Oct. This past year they had AS rooms for $49/night. I don't know what POR was running, but pretty much everything was substantially discounted. I think the moderates were $89/night and the WL was $129 or $139. I have no clue if this included rooms with king beds or not. I have my doubts though.

It's best to book what you want now so you have a room, and then call back as soon as the discounts are announced and see what you can save. You can then rebook with the discount and your deposit will be transferred to the new ressie.
