We are planning a trip next December. WE usually go in the fall or January/February when the crowds are lower. If we go Dec16-21 what kind of crowds should we expect?

I would predict moderate crowds. We were there December 11-16 this year and the crowds were pretty low -- or as low as they seem to get anymore. Crowd predictors for this year show that the crowds increase almost every day from the 16th on through Christmas. By the 21st it will probably be pretty crowded.

what type of specials (or deals) do the tend to have in Dec.? I'd love to be able to pull off a surprise trip next year!

We usually go in December from the 16-18or19th and the crowds are getting heavier. You will want to plan for extra time and get FASTPASSes because the lines will be long(just like most times of the year)....but the weather will be nice and warm (depending on the weather patterns for the year)...but this year we can't go in Dec. i will miss the holiday lights and seasonal things....but its Disney and you have to try everything right??:confused3 but until then, i guess this will be me: :surfweb:

December is a beautiful time to go. The closer to Christmas it gets, the busier the parks will be. The first Saturday in December is when they tape the Christmas parade for ABC for December 25th, so that day the MK will be very busy.

Enjoy your planning for Christmas next year, I know I am already planning!

We go every other year in December and remain to keep it that way. It has now become family tradition. In '08 we were there 2nd week in and we had moderate crowds. Same in '10. As always head for fast passes first thing for TSM and Soarin'. Everything else is mild. The weather is iffy. In '08 we had 80's and in '10 it was so cold! Nevertheless its our favorite time to go.

Do you recall if you were able to take advantage of any special offers or if you paid full price? I am wondering what type of discounts people usually find around the time of year.

Last year was the first year for us where they offered Free Dining. So, hopefully we will get that offer again or actually any offer will be good. :goodvibes

We also went at a time of the year where the costs are the lowest - in resort costs.
