We just returned from our March Break trip, the weather was less then desirable, but we can't control the weather. We stayed at Cypress Pointe Resort, and we really liked it.
Now we are looking for a timeshare rental for around Dec 28th, 29th, to Jan 6th or 7th.
I have peeked a little, but the prices are very high, which I understand with the dates.
Just wondering if anyone has rented that time of year, and what kind of prices I should expect to pay? Also any names or people you may have used!
TIA

Do you happen to know anyone (friend/family memberetc.) who is an RCI member? If so, have them check the EXTRA VACATIONS section of RCI.com. They could book a week for you (cost of week really varies depending on unit size, location etc.) . They could even use your credit card info. when making the booking for you. On top of the cost of the week you also have to pay for a guest certificate allowing you ( a non-member) to use a timeshare. I think the guest certificate is about $70Cdn/week. By going through extra vacations, the RCI member won't have to give up their timeshare week since extra vacations is just that.

We did this for the same week (week 52) a couple years ago in the Fort Lauderdale area and ended up paying approx. $600ish Cdn for a really nice one bedroom unit.

If you don't know an RCI member, google rci endless vacations and you should be able to find inventory similar to RCI.com but I think the prices are slightly higher.

:idea:I would bet that prices will go down after January 3rd....arrivals before then will no doubt be rated as "Christmas week" (red weeks) - I would think that if you could hold off on arrival unitl after January 3rd, your prices will be much lower.

That's what I am wondering. I am thinking I may vetto Xmas and do March Break again instead. My girls really wanted to go at Xmas to see all the Xmas shows and decorations. I just don't see it possible. Being that I work for the school board, I can take a few days off on eithier side of xmas, or march break, but I don't like to take to many! Thanks for your suggestions. I will keep plugging away at it, it's not like I don't have time on my side!LOL
