We are staying in a 2BDR Villa in December. Do you ever take your own Christmas decorations with you to dress up your room? I was looking at pictures of the living room at Animal Kingdom and am not sure where I could put a tree in the living area. We are not going to get one too big - maybe 3 feet or so.

Welcome to the Disboards! :goodvibes:

When I visit in December, I usually take a 2 foot tree with some decorations to dress it up.

I have not stayed at my DVC home resort yet (in a villa), so I am not sure where to set it up. One thing I did take note of when looking at the pictures of the living area is that my daughter will be pulling the couch out to make a bed, so we considered moving the coffee table to the side of the room close to the balcony and placing our tree on that.

I will post some pictures of my little tree as soon as I can get Photobucket to upload them :)

Okay, here we go. Seriously, it is nothing big. It is just enough so that our room has that Christmas-feel to it.

We hung stocking by our beds.
(they have our names on them, but I blurred that part)

It doesn't take much to get the Christmas spirit in your villa. Thanks for the photos.

I have seen members decorate their doors and even the balcony.

Happy Holidays! :santa:

There is a thread on DVC Mouseilanious Board regarding "8'th annual share a tree". People going down donate a tree and leave it there for others to use. You just give a donation to help the donor for shipping costs to have it sent back to them. It is a great program as I was very happy when we had a tree at Christmas time.

Remember you can ship anything you want to your resort. This makes it very nice at Christmas time. You can ship you gifts and anything you may want to decorate you room with:) This makes travel so nice!! Enjoy your magical Christmas.

It looks nice. Many here on the DIS decorate for the holidays. There's even a Christmas tree exchange.

I would recommend you use Command hooks for the stockings versus tape. No marks on the walls and no paint comes off. Since you own part of the DVC why not take better care of it?

Yep, I agree on the commando hooks. :thumbsup2 We actually had them for our trip, but they did not make it into our luggage. :( We ended up using a barely sticky no-reside tape that we brought for our bubble-wrapped ornaments to put ours up. They fell down every day.

bythe blood, I cannot quote your pictures becuase of the post count.

That tree is so cute. Did you get those tomatoes and mozzarella at WDW?
We will make sure to bring 3M hooks as we have 6 stockings to hang.

Thanks for the tip about the exchange. I think we plan to buy one and let anybody who wants to take it for free afterwards pick it up at the resort.

My wife put up a string or two of lights.. when we went.. the boys enjoyed it..

We really had a fantastic time for Christmas!!!

LOL - no, the tomatoes and mozzarella picture was taken in my house. I made those for a snack to share with my daughter and I just threw it in there for fun.

Now I'm bummed I was hoping to get take out and enjoy out on the balcony at BWV while people watching with a glass of wine.

:) For my Christmas decor this year..I purchased a flat tree made out of parachute type material after Christmas last year at Walmart. I have the command hooks to hang it flat against the wall. I think DH will probably want to bring the laptop again and we will have our studio , takin gup the table space. My MIL has her own studio also and of course, I got her a tree, too.:thumbsup2

This isn't AKV but by using the table we had room for an almost 6 foot tree at OKW without taking up floor space. It folds flat to about 4 inches thick by the bottom diameter and gets stored in a rolling duffle bag when not in use by a little careful bending of the bottom frame wire. We also put lights on the balcony railings.

Your tree was beautiful. How did you attach the lights to the railing? Did you wrap it around the railing?
