First time poster here. We are planning a trip near Christmas. It seems to make sense that the crowds would swell after Dec. 19th, when most schools begin their holidays. I have always heard that the 26th-31st were the busiest of the year (we will avoid that), but what do you veterans and experts think about the 19th-24th? We have been several times, never at Christmas, and need as much help as we can get as we are taking my husband's elderly parents. I guess I want to know if we'll be able to even walk around and enjoy the week since Christmas is on Friday this year. Thank you so much!:earsboy:

I'd also like to know the answer to this, so bumping it up...

Jamel,
I can't answer your question as I have never been the week before Christmas.....
...but...
Just wanted to say........

WELCOME!!!!!!!

Hi, jamal. First of all, WELCOME to the boards! :D

My only experience around Christmas has been the week after. We're doing that time frame again this year, Dec. 26-Jan. 4. While the crowds are very large, we do just fine by using Fast Passes and arriving as early in the day as possible. I would guess that you're right in thinking that the crowds are much less that week before.

But I was going to suggest that you post your question over on the Theme Park Attractions & Strategies board. That's a busier board, and I suspect you'll get a number of responses.

Good luck with your plans! Disney at Christmastime is just beautiful! :sunny:

I'm not trying to be picky I'm just letting you know in case it affects your plans Christmas is on Thursday so people might get there just a little earlier.::MickeyMo

Whoops! You are right; Thursday it is. Thank you!

We go to Disney every year the week before Chrismas crowds are light . It's the best time of the year to go. The day after Christmas is another story I don't know were all the folks came from.Large crowds, parks get so crowed that they stop letting people in by noon.We only stayed once during the Chrismas week never again.

:wave2: Welcome!

We had our Honeymoon last year from Dec. 12-15 then from 19-21 (Cruise in btwn) and the first portion of it, we LOVED...there were NO crowds...NO lines and the weather was cool. Then from the 19-21 it got HOT and CROWDED. I think the closer to X'mas the heavier the crowd.

This year, we're going from the 15-21, trying to avoid the crowds again! Hope this helps, have fun!!!:p
