Any idea if there will be Mickey’s Christmas party this year? if so do you know when I can get tickets?

DLR did it's 'official' blog post a week ago re the holidays and no mention was made of a hard ticket party, which would be something brand new to DLR. If there was going to be one I'm pretty sure it would have been in that announcement.

Are you thinking of WDW? They aren't doing MVMCP in 2021, but they are doing some sort of hard ticket after hours event.

Just announced on Disney Parks Blog:

Just read the announcement. Can't believe that it will be starting at $165. I can't imagine it being worth that with Star Wars not even included. I am in shock.

Yeah, it's crazy. Disney Worlds Christmas party starts at 169 and goes up to 249. Just not family friendly in pricing at all

So what’s the value proposition here? It sounds like it’s the same parade, maybe a little modification and there is limited access to the park.

I guess it’s to experience those 6 parties but that’s a pretty big price tag for that to be the main draw.

Oogie Boogie seems to be a lot more unique of an experience (I’ll reserve making that a definitive statement until we get more details here)

Like most things Disney theme park related it’ll inexplicably be sold out within a week and then Disney will use that as the justification to expand the dates and put holiday themed things that are default to the parks today behind the paywall.

Only saving grace is if it actually does flop but I will never underestimate Disney’s ability to to get guests to part with their money.

Seems like a missed opportunity to have Chewbacca host a Life Day celebration in Galaxy's Edge and give folks a chance to ride RotR without boarding groups. I guess that would take away from late-night maintenance time and LL $ though...

Well, you could knock me down with a feather! I really never thought they'd do this. I figured when it wasn't announced with the general holiday announcement it was a 'not done' deal.

Not local so not something I'd do anyway. But the old Telephone Pioneer Nights 8pm-1am private party tickets work out to about $75.00 in today's dollars. Quite a difference in price!

Well hotel reservations adjusted to an additional 3 days on our trips in hopes I can get us tickets! Tickets, first…flights changed after. 🤞

Life Day would have been amazing! Holy cow Disney should have done that... even if they didn't come right out and call it Life Day, if they copied it as close as they could and even used the same style sort of janky retro music... wow wow wow. I actually would have traveled for that!

I have a feeling that George Lucas had a “Life Day Can Never Be a Thing” clause in his sale to Disney. He was apparently very embarrassed by the existence of the almost-completely-erased-if-not-for-the-Internet Christmas Special. And for good reason. It is a crime against humanity.

I remember that TV special!!! It was excruciating even back then. The only reason I kept watching was Harrison Ford.

Life Day is a thing as recently as November 2020. The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special that released then was about Life Day. They could have definitely done a Life Day celebration themed dance party.

That’s right! Well, there goes that theory.

PROTIP: If you happen to be searching for a copy of the special .. um, falling off the back of a van or something, make sure to get the one with RiffTrax commentary (the guys that did Mystery Science Theater 3000). So good.

I know, huh!?! Well I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again. Hey, maybe I should always confidently predict things and it'll cause Disney to go in the opposite direction!!!

I predict a 20% increase in ticket prices!!! I predict the reservation calendars are here to stay!!! I predict ATIS and Peoplemover will NEVER come back!!! I gotta million of them!!!

While we are on the subject of the holiday special, this is required viewing for those who watched and remember it.
