December Park Hours question

Sorry if this has been asked before, but does anyone know why Hollywood Studios is closing at 6:00 pm on December 2 and 9?

We had planned to go on the 9th. Would we still be able to see Osbourne Lights? My nieces are really looking forward to the dancing lights. I know they start at dusk, but it seems like that isn't a lot of time to see them.

If changing dates isn't an option, yes, and hour would be time to take in the Lights and see some of the "dancing" shows they run. It'll be dusk in December and they'll look great, even in partial light. (We never spend more than an hour.)

Do they even start them when the park closes at 6:00? Even when the park doesn't close, they usually don't start them until after the sun has set, and that will be at 5:30 on the 9th.

Personally, I'd change my day instead of chancing missing them.

2) There is probably nothing concrete about DHS on a specific day.

We've never been when the park is closing at 6, but they got going at 5:00 the December evening that we were there, because we'd wandered back early and were surprised to see them get going when it was still light out. It was also a nice surprise because the street wasn't very crowded when they started!

Thanks! This was the only day we had originally planned for DHS and already have our ADRs set for that day so I think we'll stick with those and leave after lunch. We have one day that we hadn't decided on so I think we will go in the afternoon on that day to see the Osbourne lights.
