December or January?

Hi. I need some advise, please! We took our first trip to WDW in late September this year. It was way too hot and muggy for us, and surprisingly busy. We are planning our trip for next year and cannot decide between early December 2006 and January 2007. Based on weather and crowds, opinions please! We are from Canada, so we can handle 'cooler' weather.
TIA!

We just came back from WDW on 12/19. We are planning to go again early Dec 2006. We loved all the holiday decorations and would miss them in January. :earsboy:

We've been in both early December and late January. Our first week of December trip was by far the better trip. Parks were decorated for Christmas. Weather was warmer. Crowds were a little smaller (though that was 8 years ago -- I've heard that early December is no longer the secret that it was).

I suggest you go & try the early December as it have the Christmas (or should we say "Holiday") decorations up. The crowd might be there but you can handle it unlike going there for Christmas or New Year's.

Same thing for January but trade the Christmas decorations for some occassional rains (as what the weather will dictate)

My favorite time to go is late January. The weather is usually cooler which never bothers me! I'd rather be cool than deal with the humid fall weather there! The crowd levels are quite low which allows you to see many more attractions than you usually might. Whenever you go, have a magical time!!

We prefer early December because of the Christmas decorations. The crowds are quite manageable. Going in early December just seems to make the family's holiday last so much longer.

This year the Christmas decorations were up until Jan 8 so you could go the first week of Jan and miss the crowds and still see the decorations.

We just went 1/14-1/21 and it was wonderful! It was MLK weekend, so we avoided the MK until Tuesday and it was perfect. Very little waiting, no rain and temps were usually in the 60's to 70's during the day. Nights were cooler, but we left 20 degree weather, so we were not cold! This is the 2nd trip we have done at this time of year and we love it!

We go down every 2 years to run the Marathon and granted it is great--for marathoners--but those not running in the marathon have to deal with all of the road closures etc. The 1/2 marathon is on Sat. Full is on Sunday. So you are looking at runners IN the parks first thing in the morning as well as massive road closures until noonish. Again we loved it--80 degrees low crowds (in my opinion) but I was one of the runners running the park first thing in the morning so I didn't have to deal with the road closures---just had to listen to those that did--husband! The marathon is usually the first full weekend in January (unless new years is the first full weekend, then it goes to the 2nd weekend) hope this helps! Amanda
