OK, I need some help deciding what to do. We are WDW vets coming from Missouri. We are currently booked flying into Long Beach Wed, Dec 14 and doing parks Thurs, Friday, Saturday and flying home Sunday, Dec 18. We were all set with this plan and have reservations booked for Goofy's Kitchen, Carnation Cafe breakfast, and Fantasmic on the go dining package.

Then I noticed that Toontown and the Railway will be opening in March, as well as the 100th anniversary stuff will be going on, and today they announced that the California version of Soarin' will be available in March. We would have the same timeline in March 15-19th, same park days. Is it worth the hassle to change everything? I remember WDW version of Toontown from my childhood! I'm just not sure if its worth the hassle to change or if my kids will be amazed at the differences enough (ages 11, 9, and 4) that we could save that for another trip down the road. (even if it may be 5 years)

Thoughts, opinions, etc are all welcome! Thanks!

Honestly? With a 4yo I would 100% try to do March for the new Toon Town. Xmas stuff will always happen and Toon Town will be there too, but in 5 years you will miss that magic with the tiny one.

I know your right! But all that work to get everything just right 😩😩😩

I personally would not change your trip. As a parent of teens, our kids don’t really even remember the Disney trips we took when they were 4! They won’t know what they are missing….

Plus the park holiday decorations are wonderful, and there will be so much to do, you won’t really miss anything. MMRR is the same ride as at WDW. Toontown would be fun, but to me, not at all worth changing an entire trip over! The 100th anniversary stuff might be more important to locals who go all of the time. I am not sure what they would have in that arena that would matter to kids of your kids’ ages.

I would stay with the trip you have and enjoy the fruits of your planning!

Maybe think about what means more to you. I bet Toontown would be great, especially with the new ride. With a new land open that should help with crowds in the rest of the park, at least somewhat.

But Christmas is SO magical with the decorations etc. Plus, you get to go sooner :)

Both times will be busy, and you'll have fun in either month. I think you can't go wrong with either one.
