December Dining planning, several questions. Please Help!

I'm planning my dining reservations for December 19 to 21 and I'm totally lost! I would really appreciate if someone could help me.

First one, I'm confused, there are two different Plaza Inn reservations available, Breakfast in the Park with Minnie and Friends at Plaza Inn and Plaza Inn Dining Package.

Does the Breakfast package includes the Christmas parade viewing reservation? Or do I have to reserve another Plaza Inn Dining Package for that?

Second one, I'm looking for a Mickey character dining package, the only one I found is the Dinner at Storytellers Cafe, it appears that the Holiday Pajama Party doesn't include Mickey on breakfast or lunch, only dinner. So I found a blog of another popular site that says that you could reserve a diner package for this venue and upgrade on the spot with your waiter to have a voucher for a preferred spot for World of Color, has anyone got this? Do you recommend doing this? I can't find online any dining reservation for World of Color other than the Magic Key terrace so having a Mickey character dining and also be able to have a World of Color reservation at the same time would be perfect for me!

Breakfast does not include the parade viewing. You would need to eat at Plaza in for two meals in order to do both the character experience and the parade viewing.

Do you have little ones that want to meet Mickey? If so, you might try rope dropping Toontown. For the first 30 min or so, he is standing outside his house greeting guests. The same happens when Toontown opens after the fireworks closure.

There are a few viewing options for World of Color. I am local so have done all three.

1. Virtual Queue - free
2. Dining package at either Storytellers or Wine Country Trattoria. For this package, you can sit on the ground as you wait for the show, but you must stand for the show.
3. Dessert package - This includes seating in a chair for the show.

The dining package price at Storytellers does not include tax and gratuity whereas the dessert package does. When you calculate it out, they are similar in price.

Thank you so much! I will do the rop drop for Mickey! I guess I'll have to choose between the character experience or the parade viewing, I'm not paying two meals at the same place.

As for the WOC package at Storytellers, I was looking at the price also, as you say, the dessert package seems to be the obvious choice but doesn't include a Character dining... the problem is that I only found the "normal" dining reservation online, not the WOC package.

Storytellers is character dining. You eat in the restaurant and bring your voucher to the show later in the day. The Dessert Party is dining at the show. You are seated at tables and are served dessert just before the show. You stay in those seats for the show.

This is an older thread but the pictures might help. Guests can no longer select which table they want to sit at.

WOC Dessert Party people what table # were you seated (high or low table) and did you take a pic of the view?

I hope to get an idea of what to request on my visit in November.

I can't find online any dining reservation for World of Color other than the Magic Key terrace

Not sure why Magic Key Terrace and Dessert Party are the only things coming up for WOC, but I noticed the same thing (I'm there the same time as you). Normally there would be packages from Wine Country and Carthay Circle, if I remember correctly. I never do those because we always do Dessert Party. Anyone know why WCT and CC aren't showing up for WOC packages?

You don't make reservations for the WOC dining packages. You make a regular reservation and upgrade with your server.

Carthay Circle hasn't offered WOC packages in years.

I think it depends on what you are used to. I am at Disneyland regularly so know about these quirky things. When I went to WDW, I struggled.
