december crowds

We visited DL at the end of August this year for the first time. We are very interested in going back next year the week between Christmas and New Years. Are the crowds about the same that time of year as they were in the late summer?

I don't know what type of crowds you had in August, but between Christmas and New Years is the BUSY time for Disneyland. Previous reports have been that it is almost impossible to walk thru the park, let alone push a stroller if you have one. I think a few of those days they have actually reached park capacity and stopped letting anyone in over the past few years.

Sonya's right. I remember hearing on the local news how the park had reached capacity during that period.

Keep in mind, there are a lot of tourist who come in for the Rose Bowl game. While they're here, the hit the usual tourist places like Hollywood Blvd. and Disneyland. They're easy to spot; they're usually wearing the visiting college's t-shirts or sweatshirts.

I've been before Xmas and it's not too bad - we paln to go again just for 1 day!!!

We went a couple of years ago on December 26th and it was so crowded, it was unbelieveble. A CM later told me that it's their busiest day of the year. I was at the scrapbook store a few weeks ago and one of the ladies there told me she went last December 26th and they ended up leaving and driving home 2 days early because it was too crowded and they didn't get to do anything. I'd get there early and use FastPass as much as possible.

We were there last year for four days around new years including new years eve. It was busy but no different than any other holiday period. We saw everything we wanted to. I thought DCA was actually not busy at all. The only time it was packed was later on New Years eve night.
