December AP rates?

I am considering gettin an AP for my pre-Christmas trip. Does anyone know the AP resort discounts for December?

If you have an AP or a voucher, you can go on the website and look. I will warn you that a lot of deluxe resorts have no availablity under the best rate program for December.

The moderate resorts were/are $104.82/night, including tax. I booked for early December using the Best Rste Program.

There weren't any deluxe resorts available when I checked - looked every day for about two weeks in mid-July timeframe. SSR studios(Home Away from Home) were available, though. Sorry I don't rememer the rate.

The value resorts were just under $66/night including tax.

Those were the value season rates - I didn't check anything for peak (Christmas) season.

I booked the CBR with the best rate program for $ 121 (King Bed) per night including tax - December 2-6

I also booked the Grand Floridian with the best rate program for $311.10 (Garden View) per night including tax - December 6-12. From this thread it sounds like I was lucky to have gotten the GF since deluxe resorts aren't showing up as discounted very often.

YC/BC were $224 before tax on best rate program early Dec.
WL was at $210 before tax.

How long did the AP rates go into December. I wonder what the cutoff date is. Also I am an AP holder( we get a new one every year) but it now has expired and I will get a new one using the DVC discount. I have always waited to purchase them until we arrive because they are good for 1 year from the moment of PURCHASE,Correct?Or is it from the moment you use them? So if you want a discount you have to buy them months earlier? Can you still call Disney and ask for an AP rate or do you have to have it months ahead of time? This is getting to be difficult

OK I just read about the new system! This is really getting to be difficult! Still have a few questions. Does this apply at the Swan/ Dolphin? I presume not as they have their own system. Also is an AP now activated when you purchase it? I thought so when the rules were changed awhile ago( leave the " Rules " alone!). So do you have to buy your AP 4 months ahead of when you can use it? Does that effectively limit your time to 8 months usage instead of 12? So glad I am a DVCer! I don't usually look for these discounts anymore. Sometimes I like to use them for a few days when I don't want to use points. GRRRRRRRRRR ug: ug: ug:
