I have been trying to book a flight out of Detroit for a couple months now. I have tried to be patient! Our original trip was a Sunday - Friday so there wasn't a Saturday night stay. I was prepared to pay a little more because of that. Now we have changed our dates to go from Sunday - Monday of the following week. I expected air fare to go down. It didn't! I am really only looking at NWA. Spirit and NWA are the only two that fly nonstop from DTW to MCO. NWA is $258 rt. I am reading about people flying in December (not out of Detroit) but cities like NY and Chicago and getting fares for under $200. Do I need more patients? Or, is this the best I can get? Any advice? Thanks

Try Toledo (TOL) as that airport often is cheaper than DTW and very convinent

Thanks Nuthut. Toledo is cheaper then DTW ($211 vs $258) but I would rather pay the extra $47 and get there in 2 hours then 6.5 hours! Especially with two kids. I hate to fly to begin with so nonstop really works best for me. Thanks for the idea, though.

I feel your pain...we just went thru similar experience waiting for non stops. I would hang in there as you still have 4 mos., or you could reserve seats in hopes they may go down and get a better price then. Something will come up. We waited mos for SW to release BWI/MCO and I was very nervous as we have a grp. of 12. They finally released Dec 21 and the prices were not all that, but they are non stop and good times, so we took them in hopes thay may get cheaper yet.
Good luck :)

Lisa--

I think $258 is the best you are going to get. It's right about that out of MSP.
Your other option is maybe to check the charter airlines maybe through worryfreevacations and see if they have any flights that might work for you.
