December ADR's

We have been trying to get to the magic kingdom for a year now. Finally we know that my son in law will have leave (army first cav) over Christmas for sure!!!
We booked a trip, just a few days ago. I didn't think I would be able to get any adr's at all....but surprise, surprise!!
We were able to get reservations for all the kids meals we wanted;
Chef Mickeys on Christmas morning
Tusker House
Hollywood Play and dine (well, this is for my 2 year old grandson)
Garden Grill
Crystal Palace
Liberty Tree Tavern
O'hanas
The Candlelight processional on Christmas Eve
and Christmas at the Fort!

Needless to say I'm shocked! We also got a few others we wanted.
What gives?? Believe me I'm NOT complaining, just surprised??!!
Any thoughts or opinions?

I will be there the week of Christmas also and made an ADR just last week for 50s Prime Time and was completely shocked.

Maybe there won't be the crowds that there have been in recent years due to the economy...we can hope anyway.

I am hoping to have the same luck as you both. We just decided to go this December (actually just booked it tonight!) and I am going to call tomorrow to see what ADR we can get. Fingers crossed!

Hey, we are booked for December too. We will be there from the 14th to the 20th and we also got all of our ADR's we wanted too! I was surprised...We got Chef Mickeys, Yak &Yeti, Beirgarten, Yachtsman and 1900 Park Fare!!! Amazingly enough I got them on the days I wanted them too and times! Go figure.....

We were planning on going 12/1-4, but NO LUCK w/any ADRs (unless we want to eat dinner at 8-9pm). Can't even get into 1900 Park Fare on 12/2 for dinner for dd bday. What is going on? What's the point of buying the dining plan if there are no adrs available? Guess I'll keep trying & see if I get anything....if not, no disney this year.

After several phone calls this morning, I was able to get ADRs for Christmas week. All in all, I think we were pretty lucky to get what we did - Christmas at the Fort, Chef Mickey's, Garden Grill, Ohana's, and Crystal Palace. We really wanted to go back to Liberty Tree Tavern, but it was booked all week. Some of the times we got were a little earlier or a little later than I would have picked, but we'll work around that...
