So I have a few questions for anyone who may know the answers.

1) Is there a refrigerator in the stateroom? We have a deluxe family room with verandah. It says something about a cooling box? Does that mean frig?

2) How much does it cost to get an extra wave phone? We have a daughter that is 14 and I would guess that she will want to explore on her own.

3) Is it safe to let my 11 and 8 year olds explore on their own? I wouldn't let the 8 year old go by himself but when he is with his brother they have this thing about running off to explore everything. I don't want them to disturb other guests, but I want them to have fun and a little freedom.

It is not really a refrigerator. We keep a bucket of ice in the cooler and that is good enough to keep drinks nice and cool. (Going to deck 9 every morning for coffee and to fill up water pitchers is a cruise ritual that my husband especially enjoys ) I don't know if I would trust it for milk or foods that would spoil, though. One of my daughters is diabetic and we send her extra insulin to the infirmary so it can be kept in a proper refrigerator. By the way, your room steward can get your ice for you everyday, just ask.

We did get an extra Wave phone so both of our daughters could have one. I think it's 3.50/day but there is a heavy penalty--$250--for losing it. You can request it from Guest Services. When my younger daughter was 11, she felt quite at home going about the ship on her own, especially as she and her sister seldom wanted to do the same activities. As long as your kids don't ransack the adult-only areas, I doubt they will disturb anyone

Happyheartintx, how did I miss the fact that you had a teenage daughter?!?!?! Hooray! It doesn't seem like there are many teen girls on the cruise. I would love for our daughters to meet. I think a meet up is being planned on the first day for this Disboard group. I'll look for you there.

When we were on the Magic last year it was the week before Frankenweenie was supposed to open and they had a premier on the ship, so really hoping that and maybe even Thor

Ooops! Seeing as the most recent Navigator for the Wonder Galveston shows the lifeboat drills to be at 3:30pm, the meeting will probably have to be rescheduled. That's if the drill stays the same for the next few Navigators.
