DECEMBER 6, 2009 Winter WONDERland sailing!!!

we were stuck @ zero most of last week:rolleyes: , have 6 inches of snow on the ground; i've been homebound until today...had surgery on toe last week...even so nasty out, felt great to get out of the house:drive:

come on spring!

ps GO STEELERS:cheer2:

Jason - did u price out the day when u were on the phone w/Atlantis by chance? never did see a travelzoo special for my date last Oct, so i just kept the ressie @ the Choice Suites (going from memory about $180 for the 3 of us); last time i looked it was almost $250...still way lower priced than the excursion

im having a sr moment? what day r we in Nassau - Monday 12/7, right? followed by CC, then sea?...brain freeze i guess, have only been on 3 day ones before & not sure of the sea day

The sea day would be Wednesday, Nassau Monday, CC Tuesday, assuming everything goes as planned.:)

I talked to a reservations agent at Atlantis. The prices for Aquaventure are $105/adult and $75/child. I have heard that a cab to Atlantis is about $4 (each way or RT, I'm not sure). I was thinking of taking a water taxi. They are advertised at $6rt/pp. I have heard that food (which is included in the Disney excursion) is fairly pricey. I figure with all that, doing the excursion ourselves will save us $100-150.

That being said, someone on another thread said they talked to an Atlantis employee about the day passes. The employee said they are limited based on the resort's occupancy rate. I think as we get closer to being able to book our excursions, I will give them another call to verify that information. I can't imagine it will be overly crowded at Atlantis when we cruise.

Ah . . no snow here in sunny FL, but we've had a cool spell. Tomorrow's high should be about 54, wind gusts to possibly 40 mph, and tomorrow night . . down to 28 degrees here in the Daytona Beach area.

Personally, I'm lovin' it, but that's because I still remember SUMMER heat and humidity! :scared:

When I head to Idaho in March for 5 weeks, the temps should be nice and comfy (cool enough) for me! :goodvibes

now thats what my weather is....and im in "sunny" cali:rotfl: speaking of weather, can you remember what the weather was like thanksgiving onward to the end of the 2nd week of Dec. this past year?

cab (think a van) was $4 pp each way in Oct, we got dropped off @ Comfort Suites (never bothered to set foot in the room-which wasn't ready when we checked in anyway &avoided the add-on housekeeping gratuities, etc.;) ). After enjoying the WP area, we gambled a bit while jr (15) explored the lobby, walking out thru main entrance to catch a van back to port.

i've heard the water taxi described as 'lengthy-guess u need to wait for it to fill up before they depart? & 'rough'...all i needed to hear to skip lol

we ate @ an outdoor snack bar located down near the Dig, think stadium-prices for food. We shared 2 fountain drinks & an order of fries, in area of $18. Hazy, would have to check notes, yet i believe we had to use a CC, cash not accepted. Honestly, if my eating machine of a teen wasn't 'starved' not sure we would've bothered to eat. We made sure to eat a large breakfast :thumbsup2 & then were back on the ship by 3:30 pm or so & grabbed a snack, really weren't hungry.

Hey Taswira, I got our state room number wrong when I initially gave you our information, we will be in 6042. Sorry for the mistake. We are getting excited about the trip. What kind of things go in the FE's? Anyone with info thanks.

I changed your room number on the website. Thanks!

Someone else will need to answer about the FE. I know a little about it, but since I've never done it, I'll let the experienced ones reply. ;)

You can put almost anything in the FE. Its just a small token. For example I found disney pensils, notepad, and wallets @ target for 1.00.

I sure wish we were on our cruise.

Woke up to 9" of snow this morning and HAD to go to work!:sad2:

put me down for a foot of snow on the ground, topped off with 2 inches of ice overnight...sure glad my youngest DS had a snow day...lots of shoveling today:crazy2: he earned his dinner;)

We also had a few inches of snow, then sleet and now rain. Its so hard to shovel it because the snow is heavy.

They never give the kids a snow day here, but mommy ok'd a snow today :)

Not to be a pain, but where is the compiled list of everyone going on this cruise?
The only compiled list I know of is HERE. You can also get to it by clicking on the graphic for this cruise in my sig.

I would have put a link to the list/site in the first post of this cruise thread, but am unable to do that because I was not the thread starter. ;)

WOW...there are certainly a lot of us, lol. As it stands, just my DH, Peter (30) and I, Koreena, (I'll be 37...my birthday is December 5th, :D) in a Cat 6 on deck 6. I am hoping to move my stateroom more amidship but as for now we are in 6628, starboard. We are on second seating for dinner as well. We are also hoping my In laws and my BIL and SIL will be able to join us. Is it ok for parties of just adults to join in the FE exchanges? If it helps, we're big kids, lol.

I expect the cruise will be sold out because it is the MouseFest sailing. :)

Your B'Day is the day before mine! :cheer2:

I see I'm not the only one surfing during the superbowl, lol. I hope its doesn't sell out too fast as my In laws have to make sure they can get the time off first before they can book. They always book verandahs on their cruises so there may still be room for them as the lower categories usually book up first 9at least that is what I am hoping). I used to work for DCL 10 years ago so this will be my first sailing as a civvie :D

As we all know, a lot will depend on the economy. Many who booked will probably end up canceling around the time final payment is due, depending on circumstances. That is even a possibility for me, because I have to make certain I am able to go on the 7-night Cruisin' Nuts one - where I am the thread starter/organizer so would no way drop that one. But at this point, I still plan on doing this one also. Even if I end up having to bow out of this Wonder cruise, I will still keep up the website/cruiser list for everyone. And at this time, I'd say there is about a 10% chance I could cancel.

So although the ship may sell out, I think a lot of cabins may open up close to the cruise.
