I just found this thread. We booked our cruise with a Land & Sea last year in May. We are staying at the Poly 12/3 thru 12/6 then onto the Wonder. We even chose our room. We are on Deck 6. We've never been on a cruise before so we are "virgins". We have 2 kids travelling with us, DDs will be 10 & 13 while cruising. We are so excited to be going, but a little nervous as well. I'm worried about motion sickness for DH and DD has epilepsy, so I worry about medical care for her as well. Anyway, I'm glad to be joining ya'll. Oh yeah, we have the first Dinner Seating and are set for room 6542 (I think).
Thanks for joining the thread and posting your info. I have added your cruise info to our website. If you have any corrections later for the cabin number or anything, please let me know.As long as your DD's epilepsy is controlled through medication, she should be fine. The medical care on DCL is competent, but make sure you have trip insurance that will cover pre-existing conditions - just in case.
Is your DH prone to motion sickness, or just concerned about it? Before each cruise, I visit a GNC store and buy ginger caplets/capsules. I usually take them for about 2 weeks before the cruise, during the cruise, and for at least a week after (with longer cruises) to prevent sea sickness and to help re-adapt to land again. If your DH can take ginger, you might have him try that (in the doses on the bottle). Also make sure he brings Bonine (non-drowsiness version of Dramamine) in case he has a more serious problem. Keep in mind that one should not take Bonine and drink alcohol, although I know some people do.
There are other options - Sea Bands (wrist bands, but they don't work for everyone), prescription Scopolomine transdermal patch, ginger ale and eating ginger cookies, etc. For both prevention and cure: Make sure he gets lots of fresh air and drinks a lot of water. On a 4-night cruise, if there are any seas rough enough to cause motion sickness, it will likely be the first and last night. Hint: If that happens, you won't want to be dining at Palo and looking out the windows at those times.

(have only sailed on two 3 day cruises with Disney, im psyched!)
, whatever works for me!

yet i found the servers on the Carnival Legend to be really amazing.

how much worse can it get right??? anyways, I had to have a vehicle so I had to take the money I had put away for the trip and spend it on a car until I can take these idiots to court...at first I was in such despair and couldnt even look at a commercial or anything because I was going to cancel my cruise and had talked to my friend who is doing it with me and she hasnt made up her mind to whether she is going to do it or not but I dont know, the other day I was talking to my daughter and I thought you know, if I could put away a couple hundred a month and if disney offers a good package incentive like they did this past year and I can pay a little as I go then even if my friend decides not to go after all I could probably go for 3 or 4 days to the world, stay in a value resort and not do the dining plan and then take the cruise as planned...if she decides not to go then I will see about downgrading my cabin to a cat 6 or something..I know that I could go lower but I really really want a balcony...its more important for me to splurge on the cruise than wdw...also its already paid for you know??? my friend is going to see how her taxes come back and see if she can wing it because the issue is that its more important for her to do wdw than the cruise...so that is the dilemma but if she decides to not do the cruise then im just going to cancel it and rebook the cat. 6 one...wont be able to get the area I want to be in but Im not going to sweat over that
