DECEMBER 6, 2009 Winter WONDERland sailing!!!

hello I am a celebrity and they better recognize:snooty: :cool2: :lmao:
LOL - I'm only recognized when I have my hair down (as opposed to in a ponytail). Just ask Chip 'n' Dale! :rotfl2:

I honestly think even the "land" dessert parties that include preferred viewing may have gone to only boat viewing for the fireworks. Anyway, someone at that phone number should be able to answer your questions or connect you to someone who can. There are also "preferred viewing" packages for the entertainment (Candlelight Processional, etc.) which can be purchased as a dining package as you mentioned - eat then go watch.

The big difference between DL and WDW people stems from the sheer SIZE of WDW in comparison. There is so much info to be remembered/shared/sold - ha-ha. Hmmm . . . This place is a zoo!

Time for bed. It's about 11 p.m. here and I need my beauty sleep before Epcot tomorrow! :tiptoe:

thanks for your help...have a good time tomorrow...sleep well:cloud9:

I've done both the Epcot fireworks via boat, and the dessert party for the fireworks.

On the desert party - it was with a large group for Epcot's 25th celebration. WOULD have been nice but it rained like a monsoon and flooded everything. They moved it indoors.

The boat was really kind of neat - although you can get more smoke from the fireworks that way. I went online here on the DIS and PM'ed someone who wanted to find people to share a boat with. The boats take about 10 people (if I recall correctly). That was nice and I enjoyed it - but Shari is right - the land portion does give a better view really.

I'm meeting Shari in Epcot tomorrow, and then working at Soarin' in the evening - so I need to get to sleep...

Smiles,

Holly

gnite holly and thanks for the reply...have fun tomorrow

Good morning everyone! Shari and I had a GREAT time yesterday.

Interestingly, it turned out to be Epcot's 26th anniversary although they didn't do anything for it. I was there last year for the HUGE 25th celebration. That's where I had the dessert party ...although as I said we got rained out and it was moved indoors.

Got to have some of my favorite Food & Wine Festival food from Greece. (no wine as I had to work that evening) The crowd level was really good - most rides were a very short wait. We even did Test Track which usually has a huge line.

We also did (sadly) our last lunch at Garden Grill as it will close for lunches this week. Was a good ending though - really good food and fantastic character interaction.

Smiles,

Holly

Yes, we did have an AMAZING time! Some nice surprises yesterday . . and last week also! Plus we did something neither of us had done yet. We did the new "Storm Struck: The Tale of Two Homes" attraction in Innoventions.

Haven't done anything yet with pics from yesterday, but below is one of me last Thursday at The Garden Grill (If Holly gives me permission to post a "group" photo she is in, I will do that). Mainly I'm posting this so you can see the Disney Cruise Line Chip 'n' Dale tee shirt I'm wearing. I LOVE that shirt. I bought two on a DCL cruise years ago but gave one away to a "friend of a chipmunk" (hope you know what I mean), and now I'm wondering if this one will be worn out before our upcoming cruise! It is no longer available, of course. :sad1:

I rarely wear that shirt, just to try to save it, BUT . . The problem is that for some reason when I wear certain Chip 'n' Dale stuff, it ends up being an INCREDIBLE day at Disney! When I don't and it isn't, I always say, "Darn - I should have worn my chipmunk stuff!" But I will TRY to "save" the shirt because I especially enjoy wearing it for Chip 'n' Dale onboard to see, since it is no longer available.

As for the "group" photo, Holly will have to make the call on that one. It was cute because we had Chip, Dale, Pluto and Mickey all to ourselves! ;)

Holly where are youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu...we need your AOK!!

Okay, Holly and I both had reservations about this because as I'm sure most can relate to, we "don't like how we look" in this photo (I liked it better with my hair down 5 minutes later - LOL). But it IS unusual because we had the characters crammed in the booth with us, so if you can settle for a SMALL version of the pic - - Left to right: Mickey, Pluto, Holly, me (Shari), Dale, Chip (with my Chip change purse)

love it....and i have no qualms..i dont like the way i look in ANY picture lol....

Good morning everyone! Wow, how fast can a thread get put way down the list?

The unusual thing about this photo is in Garden Grill, generally it is one character per table at one time. Since we were "family of the day" we got to have all of them as we were escorted in.

Lynn, I notice you are going to Mickey's Not So Scary in DL. Have you done it there before? What's it like if you have? If not - we want to hear about it after you do go. Bet you are excited - it's only a little less than three weeks from now.

Smiles,
Holly

And we are just friends, not "family" - ha-ha. I think they should actually call it "Guests of the day" because there are many parties who are NOT a family.

And even though it IS supposed to only be one character at a time, we have still managed to have more than one at a time on many occasions - especially chipmunks. We do have an advantage there! :goodvibes

Lynn - I think we are particularly curious about Mickey's Trick-Or-Treat Party at DL because Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party here seems to lose a lot each year (cutbacks). It's always been one of my favorites because I LOVE Halloween. So if you have gone before, let us know how this year's compares to any in the past.

hey guys...yeah this makes my 3rd year going to MTOTP...this year the name changed ...it was MHT (Mickey's Halloween Treat) imo it gets better each year...Ive seen some things that MNSSHP does and I think in all honesty its a bigger ta do than here...however, its still really fun...basically its held in DCA (California Adventure) park...they utilize the parade lights and put things over them that cast shadows of bats and witches and ghosts etc.. and they move around on the ground...they have 3 areas where they dj and a dance party... each area has characters that dance with the kids...right outside of bugs life there are scarecrows on a perch that are actually people and its fun when you arent expecting it for them to come alive...there are tons and TONS of candy stations, several meet and greet areas...one with Mickey and Minnie...one with ALL the villains together in one area..then others here and there...princesses are out walking with their princes...and of course its all decorated up and the cool thing is alot of the rides have almost no wait because everyone is out and about...then at the end of the night they do a parade...not nearly as big as MNSSHP but I like it just the same:goodvibes Im also interested in how it is this year too...tonight is the first one of the year so Im sure i will be hearing loads about it and I will let you know plus I will tell you all about it when I get back:)

Wow - we are almost to the THIRD page back - can't have that...

Any one going to dress up for Pirate's Night?

Smiles,

Holly

well I changed the way the title was so I dont know:confused3
I think the title looks much better now because it was hard to find when it was all lower case. Looks great! Thanks! At one point I thought maybe:

DECEMBER 6, 2009 WONDERful DISney Cruise MOUSEFEST Sailing!

It doesn't say "4 night," but those who have booked would already know that and only need to look for the date. The "WONDERful DISney" gives it a "name" (same as I have on the website) and I thought mentioning MOUSEFEST might gain some attention. I would also choose a green smiley face as a thread icon (you don't have one right now) to "mark" the thread. The "Post Icons" available are limited (unlike the full smilies list), but the green smiley seems eye catching. I'm quick to admit that my ideas are often out of the norm, so by all means feel free to ignore them - LOL. :cool1:

Oh changing the title just makes it easier to find when using the thread they have posted with all the cruise dates...

My comment about being almost on the third page of was because no one was posting on here - and everyone else WAS on their cruise thread.

And I mean on the pages where you click on the Cruise Meet forum link to find the currently active threads.

Smiles,
Holly

Hey guys/gals - On our Cruiser List I made my staterrom number link to photos of that exact cabin I shot several years ago, and I linked my user name to a small pic of me in my DCL Captain's hat. It would be GREAT if others on this thread have a photo of themselves that I could link to. That way it will be easier to recognize each other when we meet. I am so bad with remembering names, but excellent at recalling faces. ::yes::

I know most of us (myself included) are camera shy and hate the way we look in pics, but as I said to Holly, I finally realize that unless I'm going to become a hermit, people WILL see what I look like in person (and in more detail - ha-ha), so why try to hide? This isn't a beauty contest. We're DIS-friends sailing together. Everyone might as well get used to my appearance gradually, and I'm hoping others will be willing to share a photo as well. What do you say? :)
