Our plane is now coming into MCO later then our initial booking on December 31. Besides transportation probably going to be more expensive, we won’t be getting to SSR until around 9pm. My older teenagers would still like to see fireworks but I’m not paying for a ticket for just a few hours.
So… any fun places to see fireworks from outside of the parks? It be great if Disney Springs did them but I’ve heard they don’t.
Thanks for your Disney Wisdom!

You can see and hear the MK fireworks very well from the ferry dock at the TTC. (The Poly beach and GF marina are good spots too, but I know the Poly is restricted to guests there, not sure about GF.) I know it doesn’t sound like a lot of fun, but at least it’s easily accessible!

One year we took bus to DHS and walked over to the bridges by Swan/Dolphin and watched the fireworks in EPCOT.

Many spots with decent views that have unrestricted access are going to be really crowded because all the others without park tickets have the same exact plan you do

I’d add on the day as mentioned above unless it’s a short trip where 1 days is really $$$.

Otherwise TTC or Boardwalk area are about your best shots. I caught Epcot fireworks from boardwalk area last week and they are so so at best. And it’s very crowded. Not certain your best way to get there either. Not driving unless you drive to HS and walk

Some years, MK and Epcot get full to capacity on New Year's Eve. They close the gate and don't allow park entry after that. Inside the parks, it's wall-to-wall people. So, if you thrive in a festive, huge crowd and you reeeeeally want to attend, plan early to get your tickets and park pass reservation to go in on Dec. 31. Other options will have more distant views, still crowded but at least you don't pay to watch.

MK has closed for single day guests only for a short time
Epcot has not closed
Neither closed since reservations began

NYE will be a zoo on property.
Traffic is crazy that night. I would not plan on getting anywhere quickly.

BUT with the airlines being so crazy, you probably will not get to SSR by 9:00.
😥😥

I'm curious to see if last year was the new normal or an anomaly
But there was none.
