On the cruises I went on before (never on Disney!) the dress was more formal than not. I was reading some of the post on this site and it sounds like its more casual. Are my kids going to be over dressed in their Christmas dresses and such?? Just wondering!

For the Tea with Alice..you will need to go to Guest Services when you get on board and request the tickets. Since we are on a 7-day cruise..they usually offer it twice. How many in your group want to attend?? I am thinking of trying to get everyone in the 1st one offered??

I think I am going to try and get 5 tickets for all of us to go. I'll ask my son later today to make sure he wants to go- but I think he will. Let me know which one you are going to do and I will try to get the tickets for that day too!

Getting excited- but so much to do. We leave next Wednesday for Florida!!!!

Be sure to request ALL tickets at the same time. If your son changes his mind..you can always return the ticket to open the spot up for another guest..its not so easy to add..especially once all the tickets have been handed out. It is a FREE event...so its on a first come first served basis.

So here is my thought on that.....
There is always going to be some that are dressed to the nines and then there are others that are going to be more casual. So you'll be fine either way.
Pack all the things you need/want on the cruise first..cut that in half..and if there is room or in our case "weight" left..I start adding things back. If I have the room..the more formal stuff comes..if not I still have my "staples"! Oh..and don't forget an extra bag or box for all your special purchases on your trip!! I like to bring a box...doesn't have much weight to it and if I don't need it..I just recycle it!

I do not think they will be over dressed. Our DD age 2 1/2 will be dressing in Christmas dresses & such also. We enjoy doing the dressing up so that will be our plans.

* We will all be dressing for Pirate Night....
* So what is the tree lighting? Please explain the events & where does it take place?

Tree lighting..(check Navigators to confirm location) but usually in the Lobby Atrium..where they light the Christmas tree to start the holiday season..

Thanks for the info everyone. My girls do enjoy dressing up so we are going to pack what I had out and go from there! I tried to get them to wear pirate stuff on pirate night, but I think onlt my youngest was into it! I sawed them the pairate party on youtube, but I think they are just not sure since its their 1st time on a cruise! I plan to work on my fe gifts tonight! Fun, fun, fun!!!!

For anyone that is interested in having Tea with Alice (well, in this case..it is apple juice) Please let me PM or email me. I just need your Stateroom # and the number in your party.
I have been told that I can request these tickets for you so we can all be together as a group. (this is not confirmed..but I will try)

Remember these tickets are on a first come first serve basis..so if you are interested..please reserve them for your party.

If the tea conficts with any of your plans..and you are unable to go..please just return the tickets to GS to allow other guests to attend.

Wondering how I will ever make it thru my last few days or work?! Still working on keeping this cruise a surprise for our daughter. Although we have almost slipped a few times. Getting very excited.

We are getting really excited too! The kids are soo excited! They have never done anything Disney and I think I will be crying tears of joy as we set sail!

Almost done packing- quick question- do we need to bring beach/pool towels? Going to finish my fe gifts tomorrow and hopefully get some sleep.

We leave Wednesday afternoon to start driving to Florida (picking up mom in the panhandle) and then to port canaveral on Friday. Please update any info to our cabin phone after Tuesday night- as I may not be able to check the boards after then!

I am sooo with you! I will have tears of joy too!
My DD always likes to yell out..."Mommy, why are you crying?" so everyone can hear and them look over at me.

We head up to Sacramento on Wednesday..to pick up my parents too and then off to the airport we go!! Can't wait!!

I'm finishing my FE's tonight. My goal is to get them finished and packed tonight! We will see!

I am sure its going to be a long week! Always seems to be longer when you have something special planned. I hope you are able to keep the surpise!! I would love to see her face when you tell her! Are you having a Character call your DD to surpise her?? I think we have our call set up for the night before we leave!! WOOO HOOO!

I'm officially on vacation!!!! WOOHOOO!!

We fly out of Pittsburgh Wed. night, staying on property wed, thurs, fri!!! Oh DISNEY for CHRISTMAS how i've missed you!!! Makes me teary just THINKING about it!!

I'm packing...and packing and packing. This is our 4th cruise, 2nd this year but first DISNEY one. You'd think I'd know how to pack...oh my..it's a hot mess. lol. THANK GOODNESS for Magical Express! DH would flip a bird if he had to lug the luggage on and off of the bus...lol.

Oh..forgot to answer..No, you do not need to pack towels. They have them at the pool and you can take them off the pool..as long as you return them.

Since DCL may revise their available activities before we sail, the following list is TENTATIVE and days/times are TBD (to be determined). *Please check your Navigators to confirm times and locations!! All meets are entirely voluntary, at your discretion.

Walking Ship Tour: 2:00 and 2:30pm embarkation (boarding) day. Meet at Deck 10, Forward Elevators*.
We have a lot of “First Time” Cruisers in our group! What a great way to meet some of your fellow passengers as well as get familiar with the ship.

Sail-Away Celebration: 4:30pm, Goofy's Pool Stage, Deck 9*, embarkation (boarding) day. We will be on the port side as close to the left front area of the stage as we can. We hope you can join us!! Alternate spot for those not wanting to be near the speakers - one deck up (Deck 10, port side) looking down on the action.

King Tritons Tree Lighting Decree: 7:30 pm, Lobby Atrium*, embarkation (boarding) day. Come join us get into the Holiday spirit!! Maybe we can even pull off a group photo too???

Promenade Lounge Ornament Exchange: Join us in the Promenade Lounge, Deck 3 Aft, for our ornament exchange. (Time TBD.) (One per stateroom only/ $15.00 max) This is a family friendly lounge fully visible from the corridor - - no doors. We will probably be somewhere towards the left or center as you face the bar. Just look for a Mickey Mouse on the table and you've found the right place.

The Cove Cafe: (TBD) Take a break in this classy, cozy cafe. Sip some coffee or a cocktail and chat with other Christmas Castaways!!

Tea with Alice: (TBD) Check with Guest Services for tickets and times.
Don’t be late for this very important date!! Come join us for a special tea with Alice.

Pirates in the Caribean Deck Party: Tuesday, 9:45pm Goofy Pool Stage.*
Come join us get are “AARRGHHH” on!! Just look for the flashing Skulls!!

Castaway Cay 5K: Meet at 10:15 at Bike Rental Area.*
Would you like to be a healthy character? Come join us for a run or walk on Castaway Cay!
