We are planning on going to Walt Disney World December 27-January 1 of this coming year. Are there any Christmas festivites going on @ this time or is everything over? I have heard a lot of different things going on but was wondering if you have been there @ this time of year u could verify some christmas activies. Also, what things are a MUST at christmas time when we will be there. Thanks

Hi and welcome to the DIS!

The decorations are still up and many Christmas activites are still taking place.

If you ar not aware, you should know that you are going at what is the most crowded time of year. The things that are a must include getting to the parks early, and not being disappointed if you don't get to experience everything.

Also, if you search this board for "Christmas" you will find lots of other threads on the topic with plenty of opinions on what is not to be missed!

Enjoy,

Bob

Must do Candlelight Processional...recommended with the dining package.
Must see gingerbread house in Grand Floridian
Must listen to storytellers in Epcot
Must tour resorts for Christmas decorations
Must see special holiday editions of Illuminations, Wishes, etc.
Must see Osborne Family Lights in MGM (view during first showing of Fantasmic...there's hardly anybody there at that time!).

One must do during Christmas week, get to your park early. Especially MK. It will usually close to all guests sometime in the AM and not reopen until maybe 3 or so.
