DH & I are planning a few nights the first week of December. Prices are steeper this time of year versus our September trips in the past. So I'm weighing out all of my options within our budget. We are 50 & 53 and have grown a liking to the deluxe resorts. 🤣 It's been easier to justify those prices in the off season. So here's my options, what would you do?

Pop Century or ASMu and attend MVMCP & Jollywood Nights
POFQ or CBR and attend MVMCP
OKW or SSR and take advantage of the EEH for deluxe guests

What’s more important to you? Accommodations or parties? Are you aware of the differences between Jollywood Nights and MVMCP? As a heads up, those tickets will both be noticeably more expensive than Sept MNSSHP tickets. Also, don’t forget to check Swolphin to see if they have any deals. Sometimes that’s a deluxe at a mod price.

Thank you! We can't decide which is more important to us at this point. 🤣 We are aware of the ticket prices being more expensive. I'll check out Swan & Dolphin. We do love the Epcot resort area!

We will all have different answers based on what WE prefer, rather than what suits YOU. Only you know which option is worth spending your hard-earned money on.
I'm more or less asking about other's insights from their own experience. I'll take that & run with it 🤣

I'd personally go with the first or second option - but that is more because OKR and SSR are two of my least favorite resorts.

I'd probably be more likely to do CBR and MVMCP simply because I don't really like that much in Studios and getting dressed up to go there isn't my thing. And I love CBR more than the PO resorts.

We liked Jollywood Nights MUCH more than the Christmas party. As two adults very similar to your age, it was a lot more festive and fun.

Now we love the Halloween party, but the Christmas party just wasn't as fun as Halloween.

We bought DVC because now that we are older we prefer the deluxe resorts and we own at SSR but OKW is also a favorite. They are nice and peaceful. We don't spend as much time at the parks now either, no more open to close. We also love taking advantage of the deluxe extended hours, they are amazing. I would say go deluxe.

Thank you! This is exactly what I was wondering about. We love the Halloween party. I've been looking up TikToks on Jollywood Nights & it looks like so much fun!

See, I just need a little encouragement in the right direction!

Oh yeah! The atmosphere was like a glitzy Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve party rolled into one! Lots of entertainment, characters, good food. Slim to none as far as ride wait times.

And if I'm being honest, the Christmas decorations at DHS are the best out of all the parks.

The deluxe hours are such a nice perk. We like spending time looking around and just wandering and I'll admit I'm not a huge fan of lines or paying for LL. We are able to do so many rides in the extra hours. At Epcot we were able to ride everything that was open including Frozen, Remy and Guardians and didn't even take the whole two hours. Your mileage may vary.

Also I love that the deluxe rooms have sofas. I refuse to stay in a hotel room without a sofa now.

Is Guardians still VQ only during extra evening hours?

If you've grown a liking for deluxe resorts, you are not going to be too pleased with ASMu or Pop. But that's just my opinion. There're plenty of posters here who stay both Deluxe and Value and are happy with both.

Also, factor a possible discount into your decision. There are room discounts offered almost all year now. And if you're going to WDW before your December trip, you could book a bounceback, which is a terrific discount.

But of all your choices, I would pick POFQ (not CBR) and go to either MVMCP or Jollywood. And get park hoppers.

CBR doesn't suck and you get that nice perk of the skyliner.

We just went first and second week of December. We opted to do the MVMCP over Jollywood. It was fun, especially if it's been a couple years since seeing that parade and firework show. I'm torn if Christmas parade or Halloween parade is my favorite tbh. the cookies offered for free were pretty quality we found and it was just an awesome vibe the entire night. I was tempted hearing people had a blast at Jollywood there but for my wife and I even with the extra addons compared to last year it still didn't warrant the price versus the other party for us. I think we will watch it the next couple years and next December trip (26 or 27) We will go.

As a fellow September traveler I am telling you the crowds for those first two weeks of December were a bit higher then I thought they were going to be.

I will echo a sentiment earlier that if you are loving the deluxe route invest in DVC. My wife and I pulled that trigger after our first trip together with zero regret. Might be at the least worth the convo with there reps. Another thing you could look at for this trip is renting points and see if it'll get you the stay you want cheaper.

I appreciate everyone's input.

We really enjoyed the skyliner during our stay at AoA so I've decided to stick w/ a skyliner resort. I would prefer to stay at CBR but the size of the resort concerns me. For now, we're going w/ Pop since this is only a 4 night stay.

I just can't stomach December deluxe prices knowing what I can get in September.

Just an FYI about Jollywood Nights - I got very sick right before our party in December and had to leave the park. I assumed the ticket was non refundable, so I asked Guest Services if it would be possible to get a credit to attend a party this year. The CM said no because there is no guarantee Jollywood Nights will return this year. I am still hoping it will but just a heads up that it may not be a given like MVMCP.
