So we have been trying to book the cabins at Fort Wilderness for December 8-17 and everything online and their reservationists say they are booked completely full. Campsites and cabins. We even tried breaking up our reservation into 2 shorter reservations. Still no luck. Isn't this supposed to be one of the lowest attendance times of the year? We have looked at many other resorts as well and many of the moderate and almost all of the value resort hotels are booked up too..... is there something going on besides the holiday happenings that we don't know about that the hotels are all booked full????

We tried the online chat and calling. They said they have the same access to the rooms as we do. They show it as being booked full. Hopefully it is just the system and not really that full

We have late Nov/early Dec booked and I was playing around on web site to see what's left and all I saw was some deluxe. It is supposed to be a low season!

Unfortunately, there's not really any slow time anymore. There are some time frames that aren't as busy as others and while early to mid December used to be one of them, all of December is now a pretty busy month. With that said, I would keep checking as sometimes availability does change as people cancel/modify their plans, so it is possible something might become available for your dates. Good luck!

Are you just talking about Fort Wilderness? Because every other resort has openings when I search?

That is one of the periods for free dining. December 8 is the starting date for one of the periods in December. But I agree you should keep trying. We were scheduled for a free dining package in September and had to cancel, so it does happen. Good luck!

Have to agree--I really don't think there is a slow season anymore at WDW. You might get a lower than normal attendance day at some of the parks on a Tuesday or Wednesday sometimes, but other than that busy, busy, busy. Disney has been really good with packing them in with specials and discounts and events--I'm sure their ideal is to keep all rooms full 365! However, millions of people visit every year and there are constant cancellations. Check as often as you can. Sometimes I've had better luck waiting about 45 or so days before check-in since that's the cancellation window for most packages. Keep on trying and here's wishing you success soon!

I happened to cruise through MDE, checking the BWI for December 9 through the 15. Thankfully we already have reservations there but MDE sez the BWI is sold out. I've been hoping for an AP discount...looks like my chances will be slim/none if the resort stays sold out:(

We are going November 1-10 and I was checking availability today and there was very little for a family of 4 - Grand Floridian, Boardwalk Villas, and two others I can't recall and that was it. I imagine it is going to be a busy time when we are there. And there's no discounts currently offered for that time frame.

November 1-10 includes Jersey Week, so that is a busy time.

Park crowd is largely dependent on off-site visitors more than resort guests. But JW is mayhem.

Also runDisney races the weekend of November 3, Veterans Day the weekend of November 10 and the last 10 days of Food & Wine. So yep, going to be busy.

Be interested to see how busy it actually is. Websites I found say JW has minimal impact on crowds to heavy crowds. Oh well, we arrive for RD and leave by noon for a midday break then go back in the evenings, so I expect it to be manageable in any event (or at least hope that will be the case).

Looking right now I see all three categories with rooms available!

We booked ASSp Nov. 2-4 for a quick weekend trip, hoping for a discount to upgrade to moderate resort. Now there is hardly any availability left for that weekend - just a couple of options in deluxe resorts. Glad I booked the value resort early!

We have POR booked for the beginning of December and we're hoping to apply the seasonal room only discount when they came out. Looks like they just came out today and the only things available are deluxes at $500-$1000 a night

When I booked our dining reservations for December 8th back several months ago now the agent told me that December is now THE month for AP holders...which is why room rates (at least Deluxe) are higher then versus the week of Thanksgiving and after.

Look at the rack rates for the resort your want and you will be able to instantly tell the higher capacity times.
