December 2017 Check in Thread

Hi and welcome!
My family and I originally planned to be visiting THIS WEEK (Black hole week) but due to my husband's job, he was unable to get the time off (long story short, he got a new job that he couldn't pass up which means our trip was delayed). No worries though, we were able to rebook our flight at the same price (but we had to pay a stiff change penalty...sob). We are in DL Dec 3 to 9 and then plan to spend 2 days in LA before heading home to Toronto on the 12th. Now just figuring out where to stay! DH has his travel agents license (he is a cruise specialist on the side) which means we get a discount on Disney hotels. I posted in another thread that I can get a Premium view room at Paradise Pier Hotel for about $70 less (for the whole stay) than a standard room at Disneyland Hotel. GC is, unfortunately out of our budget because they are offering us a club level room which is still expensive with our discount (or maybe we just don't get as good a rate there). In any case, we are happy to be going to DL (first time! We have been to WDW as a family once last year and I went a couple of times growing up).

WooT! We'll be at the Desert Inn & Suites from the 22nd (in the parks the 23, 24, 25, 28 & 29) til the 30th. We're putting two days at USH in the middle there too cuz Harry Potter! We're soooooo excited!

We are going the 2nd-4th. We didn't get to see all of the Christmas decorations last year (we went early November), so I am excited to see everything this time!

Yay! Your first trip to DL...and at Christmas! That will be magical. Have you looked at off property hotels. Some of them are even closer than the PPI or the DLH and significantly cheaper

Yay! Your first trip to DL...and at Christmas! That will be magical. Have you looked at off property hotels. Some of them are even closer than the PPI or the DLH and significantly cheaper

We did! My husband is a ta so we can get on site for $200 a night approx (not grand Californian tho). For the early entry I thought it is worth it especially since we are from east coast

My family doesn't know it but we are going to be flying out November 30th, in the park for the 1st and 2nd, and perhaps the first part of the 3rd. My 40th birthday is the 29th, there's no school on the 1st, so I told DH to keep the 30th through the 3rd free. I told him I don't know what we're going to do but we're going to do something. I totally know what we're doing though...we will be staying at the DLH which we have never done. I'm excited and I love Disneyland at Christmas time!

Coming to DLH Dec 2-7 from upstate NY for our first trip to Disneyland, many trips to WDW in past 40 years. Of course once my son (who turns 21 on Dec 2nd) heard about the trip n his birthday he just sweet talked his way into joining us. Really excited about this trip, can't wait. It's fun to be planning a trip for a new Disney location. Pretty much an expert at WDW after 50+ trips there.
