Hi, We just got back from a week long trip and have started thinking about next year. If we go in December,is the week of Dec 11-17 a good time to go.... and by good I mean low-moderate crowds. We were not loving the crowds at MK this week. I should have done a better job of planning our days at MK and avoided the "red level" days lol.

While there are really no low-moderate crowd times lately the second week of December is a great time to visit. It will be crowded but the crowds tend to build as it closer to Christmas and New Year's Day with the most crowded being the week between Christmas and New Year's Day. The week of Dec. 11 should be before most schools break for the holiday. Planning is essential when visiting Disney at this time of year due to earlier park closing times and the MK party schedule. On party days the MK closes to the public at 7:00 pm so if you are not attending the party have a plan for the rest of the evening. Park hopper tickets will let you hop to another park. Remember if you want to attend MVMCP you don't have to have a park admission, your party ticket will let you into the MK at 4:00 pm. We went the second week of December a couple of years ago and had a pretty good time although we really didn't like the early closing times of the parks. Plan right and you can have a good trip. So if we go to MK on party days, it won't be crowded? We didn't attend MVMCP this trip and went to MK on non party days. It was crowded. And we were so hot and tired we ended up not going back for fireworks.

No. I'm saying that the MK will be crowded everyday and on party days it will get more crowded starting around 4:00 pm when the party goers can get in with their party ticket. It may slightly less crowded on party days because some people don't like the early closing time. The parties may be less crowded during the party although from what I have been hearing some of the parties have been pretty crowded. All this is why planning is super important when visiting Disney especially during the holiday season. Cheers!!!!!!
