Well I've got my best friend and his wife to join us for their FIRST EVER trip to WDW. We'll be staying at POFQ. Hoping some discounts come out. Would be great to start the magic off with some discounted rooms.
My cousin just told me they have their money saved. This will be their first and maybe only trip to to wdw. I'm so excited they're going with us. Now I need FD to make it even better.
Following!
Three days ago I was completely sure I was going to Disney this September, but I think I am changing my mind.
Now I want to go the first week of December and I'm hoping to get FD. I want to see the Christmas decorations for the first time.
Wow, not to bring anybody down, but beginning the preliminary look at a possible Dec. trip for my family of 3 this year and WOWSA at the rates! Is it just me or has there been a jump in the "off-season" rate this year? I did back up my dates from our usual week and noticed a shift in the rate for earlier in the month. We usually go around the 15th and in years past my budget has been $1700-$2000 for a 6 night/7 day package (with FREE DINING of course!) but this year the same week was somewhere around $2400 with one less night! Maybe Disney is shifting the lower prices earlier in the month? Is early December going to be *THE* time to go? The first year we went mid-month it was CRAZY EMPTY. NOBODY in the parks. After that I've seen a steady increase earlier in the month. Wonder how that compares to the first week?
I really, really, really hope they decide to do FD this year on some EARLY month dates! My nursing student hubby would LOVE an end of the year vacation!
Add me to the list of December anxious people waiting for a discount. I am planning on going the first week of December. Now just have to get this knee fixed and up and running
Hoping for a discount. Probably going solo, hubby wont fly in the winter (wimp) and a room discount would be better than free dining for one person.
We've decided to move our stay back a week and switch resorts for a better chance at free dining. Based on last year we would have been out of luck based on the blackout dates for Pop Warner week and POFQ being excluded. We are now going 12/14-12/20 and staying at Pop. We are barely in our room and with just two adults, I'm willing to go value if it gets me there! Now just praying free dining pans out and then we can upgrade our dining plan.
It's my first post and I'm planning a late december trip (arriving the 21st through the following saturday) at POR so really crossing my fingers here because thats right on the line based on the last few years. We will see!

We have started planning as well for Dec 2014...we are going to brave the after Christmas through New Year. Never done it before and we've decided to try it. And Yes I've begun the planning......... OCD planner here!
Me too!! We have a trip in June/July so I'm currently obsessing about 2 trips! I'm a little worried about the Christmas crowds but will try to plan for the worst and hopefully be surprised!!
Congrats!! Sounds like a magical time! I haven't been in years- but I read that if you are celebrating a special event (oh, I don't know... a wedding!!) you can ask for a button to wear and the cast members will give you special perks? Sometimes just a congrats- but sometimes it's a special dessert or something- worth asking about! I hear you get them at your resort- we plan to get one for our son's first visit and my husband's 40th birthday! It's both!
I would like to know this too. I am between 12/1-12/6 and 12/7-12/12, basically it is going by what kind of discount I can get. I haven't booked yet, just (not so) patiently waiting....
