I just booked a 4 night from 12/1-12/5. I am not interested in paying for a dining plan but I would take advantage of free dining if it is offered. So, my question is, if we have an existing reservation will they add the free dining package later on if offered?

In the past that has been the case. You will want to make sure that your resort and room type are eligible (if not, you may want to switch to a property that is) and try call early on in the promotion to add the pin code to your package as there are only a certain amount of rooms at the discount rate eligible at each resort.

Our daughter will graduate with her BSN in December 2014 and loves WDW, and wants us to go as a family to celebrate her graduation. Due to having a son still in high school, we won't be able to go before 12/20. So I'm looking at any 7 day period, really, during the 2 weeks of 12/20/14 - 1/4/15. Shaking in my boots because are there EVER discounts for that time period? Also, we would be looking at either a 2 bedroom villa (our preference) or 2 separate rooms at any level. My husband has sworn off ever going again unless we have a separate room for us.

I'm so excited! I just made our reservations for the beginning of December! I can't wait and am hoping for free dining! Are the AoA Little Mermaid rooms always excluded from free dining, or just sometimes?

I came across these boards tonight and I am so glad that I did! We are just starting to plan our first trip to Disney World for December 7-12, 2014. We haven't told the kids yet, but I know they will be super excited! Really hoping to take advantage of a discount so I'm joining the watch!

Jumping in on the watch!

We are planning on being at the world beginning/mid December. Hopefully Port Orleans Riverside if it's just the hubby and I and the 3 kiddos going (my mom may tag along). We're a little flexible with dates, so hoping for some kind of discount to come out!

So what are the thoughts on booking? Do it now to reserve a spot and change it if/when a discount comes out, or wait longer in hopes Disney will put out the discounts due to some lack of bookings??

we are on board too. we are planning just DH an I to go nov30th our anniversary until Dec 8th. if boss allows we will stay 2 days extra just waiting for the flights to post and then we will book our vacate.

While I'm no expert, I don't think there would be any discounts during Christmas week. Sorry Phrabric.

As for us, we've not been to WDW in almost 4 years and so we are using our tax refund to look at going Nov. 29 - Dec. 5. Since we last went, we have added our two children and so this trip will be totally different from out last one!

Free Dining went through 12/22 last year. If that doesn't pan out, I have seen room discounts throught the 24th, so you would probably be able to get a discount for part of your vacation.

I will be on the watch with you! Our dates are similar to yours. Right now, I am booked at the Swan because the AAA rate was less than a value when I booked it. I would like to stay at a Disney resort though, I love Magical Express. Small thing, but I love not having to deal with my luggage!!

Check this chart for past discounts offered. Room only discounts are only available for days that fall within the dates valid for the discount. For promotions like FD then as long as you check in the last day of the promotion you would get the discount for your entire stay, up to 14 nights.
