**December 2012 Roll Call** Holidays, FLE Opening & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

It's all about whether they load the regular slots in time. And honestly, that's even assuming that they load them at all on that day. We're kind of assuming that they will load them when the CP packages are released, but there's no way to know for sure that will happen. (Even assuming the June 26 rumors are correct.)

So assuming that they a) release the regular slots on the same day, b) get them loaded on time and c) release a reasonable number (i.e., don't hold them all for CP with NPH), then no worries.

I figure it could be worse -- imagine if June 26th were your 180+10 day.

LOL! You're right about that! I felt really sorry for everyone who had to book on the same day a few years ago when they went back to 180 days from 90 days advance booking. :scared1:

I guess I'll just have to get up and give it a try.

I'm still trying to recover from my early morning last week. We drove to Colorado for summer vacation..... and of course my ADR date was while we were gone. I ended up having to set the alarm for 3:45 and tip toe around the room trying not to wake anyone up. I better do the math on ADR day next time we schedule summer vacation.

Whew! Made my ADRS this morning at 5am central, and got everything I wanted (well, minus BOG and Garden Grill obviously). I was actually amazed that I got exactly what I wanted with Ohana and Chef Mickey, without even having to choose an alternate time!

I do have to laugh at myself though. Granted it was very early and I was very tired, but I made the exact same mistake I made last year. When I tried to enter my confirmation number to link my dining plan to my reservations, it kept telling me there was a problem. I of course panicked, assuming I'd have to lose an hour and wait for phone reservations, and then finally ... 10 minutes later ... realized it was defaulting to today's date and I had to enter my first day of my stay. LOL. This is why I started that process at 4:30 am ... to allow for my foggy brain errors.

First, let me say, JLa01844, if I offended you with my "loophole" comment, I apologize. I never meant to infer that you were doing something sneaky or underhanded. It was more in reference that you discovered either, the proof readers for the circular weren't doing their job or SnS's bean counters SERIOUSLY underestimated the number of people that go to Disney or live at the Bass Pro Shops.

Talk about prophetic.

On my way to work, I stopped by the Stop n' Shop in Hudson, Ma to get my lunch fixins for the week. On the way to the checkout lines, I look at the gift card rack, and sure enough, guess which sets of gift cards were sold out? You got it. Disney and Bass Pro Shops.

:lmao:

The wife and I have some friends who have never been to Disney World and they have lived in Florida all their lives. So we thought what would be better this Christmas than to treat them and their 3 kids to a few days at the Kingdom.

So we are gonna be at WDW from December 15th to December 21st. Staying at the Cabins @ Fort Wilderness. I have to say I love Fort Wilderness.

My wife and I and our son have been to WDW too many times to count, so the fun, excitment and joy of this trip will be seeing the reactions of a family of 5 who have never been to WDW. The best thing is they aren't telling their 3 kids till a week before the trip. They have no clue. Of course the parents who are both in their early 30's are super excited since they have both lived in Florida their whole lives and have never been to WDW.

We are giving them the full bore treatment, table service meals (woot for getting all our ressies this morning), Hoop-Dee-Doo Review dinner show, MVMCP, also gonna try to get the Dessert Party if I can beat all the rest of you to the phone when December opens up :thumbsup2

Booked out trip yesterday!!! This is the first time we have ever gone during the holidays!! We arrrive December 29 and are staying at the Fort Wilderness Cabins. This is our third time staying at the cabins and we LOVE them!!!!

You should be ok, as long as they don't reserve too many for CP packages.

Honestly, I don't know why they put the CP packages at the most popular restaurants anyway. Le Cellier is always full regardless. Wouldn't it make more sense to tie the packages to *less* popular restaurants? :confused3

Because Disney charges the higher flat package rate for those restaurants for the CP pkg. And even though you get the Select 1 app, 1 entree, 1 dessert, 1 soft drink, people will still add on to that. Additional apps or desserts (I know I always add on an app or cheddar soup). Beer or mixed drink here or there (because these restaurants, except GG are mostly geared towards adults).

Though I can't figure out why they wouldn't allow LC to book dinners since they took the dinner option away for the CP last year.

Not sure if anyone answered this, but these four restaurants are blocked out completely for all of December - lunch and dinner. It's really irritating. I'm not even doing Candlelight Processional at all, let alone trying to get a package. I just want to eat dinner at Rose & Crown on our Epcot PM EMH night.

Anyway, the prevailing rumor is that you'll be able to book this June 26 when the CP packages open up. Of course, there are other rumors to, depending on which random CM you ask.

CP packages have to be done by phone, right? So assuming they release a reasonable number of tables for general reservations, those of us booking regular online shouldn't have too much trouble.

Great :headache: Hopefully they will leave some open for those of us not doing CP. But even then it might be difficult to get an ADR for R&C.

Does anyone know if you can book CP package outside your 180 day window? If it CP package booking opens on June 26th and my window isn't until the 29th, will they all be gone? :scared: Getting worried here!!

Hi, We will be arriving on Dec. 3 and leaving Dec 15. Our first trip in December and our longest trip so far. We will be staying off site at Sable Palms. Parents have a time share, we could not say no to a free room. We can't wait!!

We will be at OKW arriving 12/09 and leaving 12/14. This is our home resort but for the last 3 years we have been sleeping around so to speak. It will be nice to go back home after this absents...smjj

BDL, I didn't realize Bass Pro Shops at such a big following.... :lmao: Stop and Shop is running the same promotion this week as well. If you wanted to try your luck again. :goodvibes I'm outta money! :rotfl2:

The "Plan" in a nutshell...

1) Land at MCO by 9:30am, Magical Express, Check In @POP!, Explore POP!/have lunch until room is ready. Rest/Nap/Unpack. Dinner at 'Ohana. If we are up to it, view the Water Pageant, then ride the MK boat back and forth to view fireworks.

2) Epcot Rope Drop, Lunch Biergarten 12:30, back to POP!, Do our own BBB in the hotel room, Magic Kingdom for Main St. Electrical Parade, Wishes, Ears at Chapeau. (THINKING OF WISHES DESSERT PARTY)

3) Magic Kingdom Rope Drop, Hopefully a Counter Service lunch at BOG, 4pm leave on the Wilderness Lodge boat, Dinner at whispering Canyon, 7pm Campfire Sing a long with Chip and Dale.

4) Hollywood Studios (not rope drop...whenever we get there, which won't be to late since our DD is an early riser). Lunch; Starring Rolls & Turkey Legs, Stay until we see Osborne lights, take Friendship boat to Boardwalk area, Beaches & Cream for dinner, Walk through Epcot see Illuminations.

5) Downtown Disney AM & Lunch(Earl?), Back to POP! 3:30 leave for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, 5:00 DD is getting here haircut at Harmony Barbershop (just a trim).

6) Animal Kingdom Rope drop - 4pm. Lunch probably at Yak & Yeti CS, Dinner at BOMA 5pm, back to hotel for movie at pool.

7) Pick a Park Day; Epcot or Animal Kingdom, Studios or Epcot at Night.

8) 8:05 Crystal Palace, Magic Kingdom all day, 11am Pirates League

9) 9am O'hana, Ride the monorail/Downtown Disney, 4:30 Magical express to Airport.

Anyone want to critique or suggest??? :thumbsup2

Well in a stunning turn of events it looks like we booked and are now cancelling the Christmas trip all in the span of a week:rolleyes1:rotfl::rotfl:

It's not a bad thing at ALL. A very interesting job prospect is shaping up for my husband. It made us start thinking more long term than we have been in awhile and we've decided to really tighten our belts to put ourselves into a better position to move if we decide to in the next few years. I don't want to get to that place and start saving. I want to get to that place and have already saved what we would need to make a move.
So.. with that being said.. we'll take our August trip.. and that's it for awhile.
Not a sad thing at all.

My main point was that I'll be cancelling the ADR's I made the other day. My dates are from the 13th of December to the 22nd. I got an Ohana and a Trex and some others. If anyone wants a crack at them let me know and I'll make sure to post before I cancel this evening.:)

congrats on the job offer, atleast you still get to go in august! :woohoo: did you have any early morning chef mickey adr's? that seems to be the only one that I can't get into.

ADRs are made. :cool1: Only one I was worried about was Ohana. DH thought I was nuts for getting up at 5:45. I wanted Ohana on a certain day at 5:30. At 6:01 the best time was 5:55, which was fine and I grabbed it. But DH said, there really are other nuts like you up this early making reservations?? :lmao:

Count me in as a nut! The alarm went off at 5:45 Saturday, and my DH went "What"? Got all that I wanted except waiting for the EPCOT CP to come available.

We just rebooked with a free dining PIN!! Oh boy!! A whole new round of planning is on my to do list today :D :cool1:
