Just booked our first Christmas trip; we've stayed at the WL many times but always in June. We weren't going to go to DW this year but received a 40% pin code email Friday and just couldn't pass up the opportunity. Now the fun begins of learning all about DW in December and making plans! Love to hear anyone elses plans or experiences and tips.

Disney in December is amazing :thumbsup2. We just got back 12/21 and we had a fabulous time :goodvibes. I received the 40% pin and just booked another trip for this December :yay:. The WL is beautiful all decorated for the holidays :). The Osborne Lights at DHS is amazing and it's also fun to visit other resorts to check out all the different decorations :wizard:. Some of our favorites (other than WL, which is our favorite at Christmas time) are the GF, BC/YC, BWI, and AKL :). Also, there is MVMCP at the MK on specified nights in November/December :santa:. Happy planning and have a wonderful trip :dance3:.

This will be our first time at Christmas too..and our first time at WL. I am very excited! :woohoo: I think it may be a long year of planning. I will enjoy it... not sure how much everyone else will.

We just booked 12/11 - 12/17 and we LOVE Disney in December!! We've been there twice before in December once 12/7-12/13 and once 12/17-23The decorations are fantastic and there is no better place to get into the Christmas spirit. Let the countdown and planning begin!! :santa:

:thumbsup2 I am so excited I already started a PTR. Talk about some early planning!!!! :rotfl:

:thumbsup2 We have planned our first WDW trip from Dec. 1-6th, 2011. We are staying offsite at the Sheraton Vistiana Villages Resort. I can hardly wait, the magic of Disney along with the Magic Of the Holidays, what more could I ask for? We are also planning our First Cruise for October,2012. That will be hubby and I, 25th Wedding Anniversary. I am so excited I can hardly contain myself lol

I just booked my December trip this week. Will be arriving on Dec 18, staying at POP. I'm SO excited! The people at work think I'm crazy planning this far ahead.

Yippeeee!!! So glad I found some "early" planners here! :goodvibes
I just booked our first Christmas trip this week. We'll be at AKV from 12/15-12/25. So excited! We're summer people, so this is all new to us.

The CM at MS was so excited to help me book our trip and gave me a run down of what not to miss...
Osbourne Lights, MVMCP, the decorations at the BC, GF, CR and also mentioned something about taking a ride through the camp grounds? :confused3

We're summer people too; in fact anything below about 80 degrees seems cold to me, but really looking forward to being at DW with all of the Christmas decorations up, already have our plans for ADR'S, just waiting for the 180 day mark to make them!

What places have you chosen? I've got most of my choices made, but need to have a family pow-wow and see where everyone wants to eat.

This will be a surprise trip for my DD, and most of our meals with be CS but DW & I have picked, Ohana's for character breakfast, Sci-Fi at DHS, GG with CP package, & Via Napoli.

How fun! A surprise trip! :thumbsup2

'Ohana is our favorite character breakfast. We always end our trip with breakfast there.

I'm debating doing MVMCP or CP. I know my kids would love MVMCP, but I think my parents would much prefer to see CP.

Ok So next month I will be booking our 1st EVER Disney TRIP!!! We are so excited and Im ready to get into the planning mode :)):rotfl: Im such a planner!!!!! :surfweb: We will be arriving 12-1 and departing 12-5. I need ANY info you can share on codes and discounts!!!! But of course doesnt everybody?????:rotfl2:

I am planning on staying at either CSR or PORS? Havent quite decided. A code would prob decide for us but either way we will be in one of those resorts with th DDP!

READY TO PLAN!!!!

How do December crowds compare with summertime crowds?

In my opinion, WDW is more crowded in the summer than December. Our December vacations range from Dec. 3 through Dec. 24. The closer to Christmas the more crowds. We really didn't notice much of a difference until Dec. 23.

During a few of our trips the temp reached 80 degrees.

Kathy

If it's not anymore crowded than it is in June that would be great. We usually either do EMH AM, rope drop, or EMH PM to avoid the big crowds in the summer and are planning on doing the same this trip. Thanks for the info!

I am so glad to see there are other early planners like me! :rotfl: We (okay so it is me and dh is going along with my plans) planning a SURPRISE trip for the kids (14, 11, and 3) leaving Christmas Day. We are going to stay at USO for the first 4 days at the RPR in order to do Harry Potter (my 2 oldest are HUGE fans) and Discovery Cove (dd wants to be a marine vet, so we are doing the whole dolphin thing). On the 30th we are going to move to WDW...already booked and paid for our room...renting points for the BWV (exactly where I wanted to stay) and stay until Jan. 6! I am working ADRs currently, just when I think I have decided...I change my mind. I keep thinking I NEED to do the dining plan, but it just seems so restrictive to me...

Can wait to plan with all of you!

I booked my trip on Jan 6th for our Chirstmas trip in Dec. The last few weeks have been TORTURE!! I don't have a clue how I am going to make it!

Sounds like you are going to have an awesome trip! I have yet to plan some ADRs (as we get closer to that 180 day mark I will def. have it worked out) As for the dp...I don't know that I would go without it. I have never found it to be restrictive. Just the opposite in fact. On the dp, I feel like I can get what I want and not worry about the cost. Without it (we did go once without it) I opted for the lower priced items on the menu....didn't get snacks I wanted..and never got a dessert. It wasn't as much fun. ;) But...what works for some does not work for others. It just works for my family and I.

I know... how to make it 10 months????? Torture!!! That is exactly it. ;) I started a PTR for the trip to help me pass the time and to organize my thoughts. Maybe that would work for you? Course...on mine I am not so sure I am staying organized as much as I am just rambling... :upsidedow
