December 2011 - Christmas with Mickey!! Who's Coming Along and Planning Help Thread!!

WOW! $100. That might be worth driving to Dallas. We are in Austin, so flights are always more expensive. We will probably wait until SW starts selling tickets before we purchase. We've flown Jet Blue the last 3 times, but the flight times are not great.

We don't leave until the 26th, so there are not many options at this point.

Not necessarily.

I just priced Knoxville to Orlando as well as Atlanta to Orlando for our trip in December. It costs us $1 *less* to fly out of Knoxville with a layover in Atlanta and get on the same flight in ATL that we would be taking to MCO if we drove to ATL.

How's that for dumb? It reminds me of when we went to Key West last February. It was $100 cheaper to fly from Knoxville to Charlotte to Key West than it was to fly on the exact same plane from Charlotte to Key West. They, in effect, *paid* me $100 to fly to Charlotte instead of driving there.

Can we join in?? We had a great time (although froze damn near to death) this past December, but will be doing it all again December 4-10th! We will be onsite most likely at AK Villas.

When you are booked, let me know and I will add you to the list. :goodvibes

We haven't made a December trip in a loooong time, we usually go in the summer. I'm wondering, for those of you who are regular December folks, what the EMH schedule usually is? I know in the summer it's normally the same each week throughout the summer (ex, Sun and Fri nights are always Magic Kingdom.) Anyone have any input about the EMH days of the week in December? I'm going crazy not being able to really 'plan' anything yet :rotfl:

It is always subject to change and there is no guarantee that will be same from year to year or even month to month.

You can use the current EMH schedule as your guide. December 2010 was pretty much the same as it is now. Look at the Disney calendar on the official site.

def'ly in!!! dates are in the bag Dec. 29 to Jan.2 and planning to add more days... for right now its POLY Concierge MK View!!! :faint: I dont know if I can wait that long... I am about to :faint: again...

We purchased our departure flight out of DFW last week. We paid $100 per ticket on American. That was our max we were willing to pay considering the ridiculous baggage fees. We plan to fly Southwest home as soon as they release fares.

That is a really good idea... I've been watching airfare, also, and so far they are really high R/T. Occassionally have seen some better deals but flight schedule did not fit... normally we don't have a schedule but on our departure date, we will. So... I'll keep watching... :surfweb: But I like your separate airlines as a possibility!!

We have found that we usually get a better deal by booking only 1 leg at a time. Round-trip is almost always more expensive.

You are right! I managed to book the 'getting there' leg on Friday with american and lo and behold continental dropped the 'coming home' leg today! So we are officially booked, with the flight times we need as well as a price we are willing to pay! Thanks for the advice!! :worship:
