December 2011 - Christmas with Mickey!! Who's Coming Along and Planning Help Thread!!

Any ideas 'how to tell them?'

Don't tell them until you're at the airport. They'll *really* be surprised! I can only imagine the excitement! :yay:
We'll be at the Poly from the 12/11 until 12/17. Just booked last night with our PIN and got 35% off. :thumbsup2

We'll be at the Hard Rock on the 10th. Disney wouldn't give us the special rate until the 11th, and wouldn't guarantee that if we checked in on the 10th we'd be able to keep the same room when we checked out and checked back in on the 11th. Besides, DW wants to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. :goodvibes

It's been 3 years since we've been back. She gave me the option of Hawaii or Disney. I chose Disney because, I told her, she really wanted to go back. What I *didn't* tell her was that I really wanted to go back too. :lmao:

Thanks phinz! That is what I would like to do - somehow surprise them when we actually arrive at the airport - wish I could find a volunteer Santa to meet us there to tell them!! Plenty of time to plan it.

We were able to use our PIN as well for a 35% discount. Made it that much easier for DH to say "Yes, let's do this." He loves Disney as much as I do but tends to contain his excitement a little bit more discreetly. Me... not so much!

If I lived in Oklahoma you can bet I'd be there to do it. I think it would be *awesome.* Tell them you're going to grandma's, or to some place that they're not all that keen on, then have the Santa come up to them as you walk in the door of the airport. He could be just dressed in a Disney shirt with a Santa hat on. Have him give them something practical but Disneyesque and say, "Here. You're going to need this at Disneyworld this week. Merry Christmas kids. Your parents love you very much and want you to have a great Christmas with Mickey and his gang." :santa:

Just booked :banana::banana::banana:

Anyone know when you can start booking MVMCP and the Candelight Processional dinner packages? I'm so excited!!!:banana:

ETA: Just searched Mousesavers and answered my own question :) For anyone else wondering...last year tickets for MVMCP went on sale at the end of April and tickets for the CP Dinner Packages went on sale at the end of August. Can't wait!!

My friend was at Disney the week before Christmas this past year. She said that MVMCP replaces the regular parade the week before Christmas. She suggested not purchasing the extra tickets since hopefully the parade will be during the afternoon the last few days before Christmas. Is this correct?

Also, I'm interested in the Candlelight Processional, specifically the dinner package. Any suggestions on that? Can I make ADR 180 days out then switch it to the dinner package?

From what I've read about MVMCP, after it's final day, the parade replaces the normal MK parade for the days between then and New Years. If you're going to be there after MVMCP ends and that was the only reason you would have gone to MVMCP then yes, you could just see it in the normal park time.

We did the CP dinner package in November of 2007 and did The Garden Grill. We thought it was great to have a reserved seating area and have read multiple reviews of people who stood in the non package line and didn't get in, or had to get in that line 2 hours beforehand just to guarantee getting in (and then you see/hear the previous show and it ruins it a little.) They now also offer a special viewing area for Illuminations for anyone who had a package too, so I think we'll definitely go this route again!

That is a great idea! Surely in 10 months, I can find someone! I actually think my boss owns a suit... :santa:

I will get you all updated/added to the list early this week. Has been hectic around my house. :)

Hello!
We are taking our kids to Disney for the first time this December!!
The boys will be 3 and 5 in December and I can't wait. We are surprising them the day before we leave so we have to keep the trip a secret all year long....
We're staying at the GF from the 17th-22nd and my parents are joining us as well.

Kristina :goodvibes
