December 2011 - Christmas with Mickey!! Who's Coming Along and Planning Help Thread!!

I have a silly question.... Is the candlelight processional something that would be appropriate for a small child? My guess is no, but I thought I should ask before ruling it out.

DS was 15 months and did okay. There were a lot of kids so your baby won't be out of place.

The dates at DHS for The Osbourne Family Spectacle of Lights have finally been released!!

Begins Nov. 10, 2011, ends Jan. 3, 2012. :santa:

Now, to wait for the CP stuff!!!

It is every night though, right?

From what I have read, yes! They turn the lights on at 6 pm and the lights stay on at least until the park closes and sometimes longer depending on the crowd size.

Relatively new to the boards here.

We are staying at POP December 1-7.

This is my 2nd trip (first time was back in the late 80's), DH's 1st Trip, and DD's 1st Trip. I am pretty much saying it's my first trip too since I was so young, but I do remember some stuff. We are going for DD's 5th Birthday (12/5).

I have all my ADR's made and everything is booked and paid for. Now I am just waiting - ughhhhh this is killing me. Someone please tell me something else to plan! I am working on getting outfits and making an autograph book too.

Welcome to POP, its our favorite resort and we will be celebrating our 40th anniversary there Nov. 27-Dec 4. The DGD, currently 9, has been to POP three times and loves it! Its a very good resort for kids.

Well, as your vacation gets closer, Disney will add shows and add park hours and this will cause changes to the crowd calendar. Keep track of these changes because this could cause you to have to change ADRs. Like if you have an 8:00am breakfast planned that would get you into the park before it opens, but Disney adds an hour and opens at 8:00. You're no longer early and may have to cancel that ADR. I have had to switch the park planned for a certain day because Disney changed their calendar.
There will always be things to be tweeked in your plan.

Well it looks like we may be spending our first Christmas at the parks!!! My family has decided to make that their present, instead of the usual gifts under the tree, and who am I to complain;)

Now we have never been during Christmas week, heck we've never been during any 10 Crowd level, so I'm a litle worried. As I told them, we hit every ride over and over this past May, so this trip will be more of a "if we ride it great, otherwise we will shop around and visit the resorts".

Looking forward to seeing the decorations again at the parks,(we have visited during early December, long ago).

Thinking of Dec. 21 - 27th for our trip, would LOVE to see crowd pictures during this time so I can wrap my mind around it for a few months, expect the worst and be happy if it turns out better.

Well, we are out for December, DH won't get paid if we go the week we were planning, because his vaction doesn't come in until January, but he probably wouldn't be able to get off then anyway, guess it's a good thing they let us know this far in advance.

Bytheblood, pleaes take us off for Dec.

Made ADR's today for trip. I got almost everything I wanted at the time I wanted with the exception of Rose and Crown.

Same here. I didn't get Rose & Crown or LeCellier. I understand they've "held" most of those reservations for the CP packages.

I did get everything else, even Christmas breakfast at 'Ohana. :thumbsup2

They must hold dining reservations because we are more than 180 days away from the date I tried to get Rose and Crown. I was able to get a table, just not at the time I wanted. Hopefully they will open up more times later.

Disneyland_mama - congrats on getting Christmas breakfast!

I'm jealous of your Rose & Crown ressie! Did you call or did you book via online?

Both actually, I looked online and there was only one time available so I called, hoping that there were more times available. After waiting for five minutes - I hate calling Disney for that reason - the person that answered said there was only one time available. It was the same time I found online. I politely thanked her, hung up, and booked it online.

Just waiting for Candlelight Processional dinner packages to come out now. I want to book a CP dinner for our first night.

It's official, we are going Dec 25-31. See ya all there, thanks Santa! How early are you able to get ADR during this time? I don't want to be sitting at breakfast during rope drop.

Spent most of today on-line or phone and made all our ADRs! Got all we wanted except for Candlelight Processional-- hurry up July. What's up with Fantasmic Dining? No availability on 12/25 or 12/28-- 187 days out at any of the 3 restaurants. Can't really believe they sold out this early.:confused3

Just logged on and am being told no availability for a lunch time ADR at any of the 11 Downtown Disney area restaurants and today is the first day to book for 12/29. Seems like the on-line booking system is still filled with problems and issues.:santa::santa::santa:
