We had been discussing going over Christmas for awhile now, and it's official...we are going!

It will be my family (me, dh, dd who will be 5, and dd who will be 2), my in laws, my sil, bil, niece and nephew, and other bil. My mom may go as well.

My in laws know they want to stay at BWV, but we can't afford that, so we will be at a moderate. Now to pick which one! We just stayed at POR in September. I have to take the kids into account now though, because they weren't with us :)

Our plan is to be there December 27-January 2nd.

Anyone have any advice for being there during that crazy week? Places to eat, resort opinions?

Hi,
We are thinking of our next trip too! I have always wanted to go during Dec. to see all of the displays! I am dreaming of thr Poly.! We are staying at the CBR this time! This will be our first stay there!pirate:

My second choice is the Co. I was so close to picking that this time but the "kids" liked the CBR better! Mostly because of the pools!!!!!

2007 we stayed at the cabins. Very peaceful!!!!:hippie:

My "kids" are 20,16 and 10. My DD16 uses a wheelchair, she LOVES to swim!!! Also the beach is great for DD16 and DS10 (love sand). Also, this will be my DD20 Bf first trip! So, as you can read we are a busy bunch!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Wow, a year preparation, this makes your excitement in a high level. We are planning this December 2009 after than maybe another plan for next year.

Have a nice day everyone. :)

I'm going in May (this year), but after that, I've already got December 2010 in mind. We went Dec. 2007 and LOVED it! So, I've gotta enjoy this trip first and then I will be planning again!

We are planning the same dates as you, OP!!! We are considering BCVs, VWL, the GF, or the Poly...I am seriously considering buying into the DVC in the meantime. I don't know if I can wait as long as it will take for Dec10 to get here. We went in Dec 07 and Dec 08...we planned to take a break in 09 but, I'm already having huge WDW withdrawls!!! I have started pricing a trip for this year but, I don't think it will work out...I am crossing my fingers for a great deal to come my way. However, if one does not and since I can't imagine going at any other time of the year...we may just have to til Dec 10 to get back there.:scared1:

I'd like to go in December again but 2009 is out so maybe 2010! It is absolutely beautiful there!

You said you would like to stay at BWV but the cost is too high. Have you considered renting points? I stayed for 7 nights in Dec 2008 at BWV with a boardwalk view in a 1-bedroom villa for less than it would have cost at a moderate. You might want to consider it. You have to make your reservation 11 mos in advance for the room (you would have to book it in February 2010 but it is so worth it if you can do it.) I rented from a very reliable DVC owner and was very happy with my stay.

Just a thought :confused3

(I priced my last trip thru Disney website versus renting points & getting tickets thru a very reliable ticket master and I saved about $800.)

My family is also already planning to go to WDW December 5, 2010. I even have a count down clock loaded onto my laptop. As of today we have 613 days to go. We are going to stay at the Polynesian again, but will go with a garden view instead of the magic kingdom view in order to save a few bucks. I am already reading up on restaurants and such.

Well, it's official! We'll be going Dec. 27-Jan. 2nd. We will be staying at The Contemporary in the new section that they are building!

I am really trying to talk dh into a free dining trip this fall though. Not sure if that will happen!

We will be going the end of November (Thanksgiving) till the first of December 2010, unless we win the lottery before then. Actually if we do win the lottery, we'll still be going then but a few times inbetween. :rotfl2:

I'm glad to know I'm not the only person planning 2010 trips. We're unable to go this because of family obligations, so we're making up for it with 2 trips next year. We became DVC members this week and will be going in March and Oct of 2010. I can call WDW and make my reservations for the March trip in 3 weeks. I'm so excited!!! We'll be staying at BLT (Cont new section) and then the Treehouses in Oct. I already started a spreadsheet of places I want to eat that we've never been too.

We just joined DVC Bay lake tower, we will be going for my Daughters 11th birthday 11/30-12/8 When do they decorate for Christmas? We are going to England to see my husbands family this year, so when we come back I will start planning this trip.

It will be decorated for your trip. We go for Thanksgiving and it is always decorated. Oh, and what a sight it is, just beautiful!

My DH thinks I am crazy. We haven't even gone on this yrs. trip and I am already planning Dec 2010. We are doing the Disney cruise first and then my plan is to meet my parents at BLT and stay there for a week. We are looking at Dec. 5th-Dec. 13th.

I would love to do a Disney cruise and then a stay at Disney. I can't get DH to go along with it. All he thinks about is the cost. We can afford it but he just looks at the price and says not doable. At least I have gotten him hooked at the Poly. No MK view this time, just the garden view. He likes how the place is laid out and the convience to the monorail.

My DH has been wanting to do a cruise for years. I am not good on boats so this should be very interesting. I must be the only person who books a cruise 22 months in advance to get myself excited. We are going to try the three night cruise. I am doing Disney after because I know if I keep telling myself I will be in Disney soon I can survive the cruise. You picked a great resort to have him hooked on.

I will definetly be there in Dec 2010 as were planning on getting married at WDW!:yay:

Were going to do a week at a mod with our families (either POFQ or CSR) and then for our disneymoon a 4 night disney cruise (our first one and its booked) and then a 4 night disneymoon at one of the deluxes.:goodvibes

We went last December and stayed at the Contemporary for four short nights. Due to travel our first and last days were cut in half so that left us ony three full days.

We decided the next trip will again be in December of 2010 but we are staying at the POFQ this time - and this time the trip will be for 8 days/7 nights. DH thinks we should wait another year so we can pay some bills off but I can't wait any longer than that. I told him I would squirrel money back so the trip would be paid for before we go.

I know it's over a year and a half away but I can't help being excited! :yay:
