DECEMBER 2010....Who's comin??

Am I the only one also already trying to decide which restaurants to make ADR's? There are a couple we really want to eat at again, but yet there are so many that we haven't tried.

Nope, I have already decided for the most part though I am still trying to decide between a couple! I have also made a rough schedule about where to eat lunch and dinner each day and now I just need to wait for the park hours so I know what park on what day so I can finalize the schedule (thank goodness for Excel spreadsheets!). :teacher:

Oh no you are NOT alone. I need to start looking though because I change my plans a million times before we go. I am trying to talk the kids into trying new places and letting them pick one or 2 places to repeat. Thankfully all they want to repeat is Ohana for breakfast. So far they have picked....
LeCelier
Ohana BF
Sci Fi lunch
Tonys

Trying to pick special Christmas dinner now. I love ADR planning.

I just need to plan out our TS places. For the counter service we just so of wing it. But I do need to plan which day we will be at each park though.

We are going dec 22 -29th, its our first Christmas visit and we are sooooo excited, we have always wanted to go at that time, but never thought we would be able to do it. We usually go for 14 days so its going to be hard only doing half of that this time, but hey, we just want to go for the atmosphere and the decorations :)
We will be staying at POP, has anyone stayed here at Christmas before? Would love to know any info. Also does anyone have any tips for meals on Christmas day? :grouphug:

I am so glad that other people are just as dining-obsessed as I am! I'm especially excited about the food since we're doing DxDDP and since it's my birthday trip I feel justified in doing all the ADR's. :cloud9: Of course, hubby and I like the same type of food, so I know he'll be happy too . . .

Oh-and I've already marked on my Microsoft Outlook (on my home computer and my PDA) June 7th b/c that's 180 days from arrival date-ADR DAY!! :cake: I briefly considered taking it off work, or at least saying I'll be in late (just to allow enough time . . .), but I should be able to start the process right @ 6am, since I really don't know if I'll be able to sleep the night before! :rotfl:

Oh-and I decided that we really do need to add an extra day & night for our trip, so we're going the 6th-11th. Haven't quite told hubby yet about the extra day, but at this point he's so uninterested in the details that I could just tell him that the plan all along was six days! :rolleyes1

Dec 11 - 17 at the Poly! This will be our first stay at Poly and first non-summer trip. I can't wait for Christmas.

NO!! I have been doing the same. Bad thing is I haven't even booked my actual vacation yet LOL I want to try to surprise my daughters with the trip and details....but also want to include my kids in the planning. Decisions!

We did Pop for Christmas in 08. It was our first Christmas at WDW and its now a tradition. The huge tree in the lobby is great. Santa was there to visit in the lobby on Christmas eve as well. A lot of people decorated their windows which was really cute. Some went ALL out.

As for Christmas meals it all depends on what you want to do. We normally do not eat in a park just because the crowd levels are insane. MK was closed due to capacity by 10am. So if you want to eat at MK get there early and plan to stay there. You never know when they will reopen. I've been talking to the kids about Christmas dinner already. So far all the smart butts are telling me is they want food. UGHHH

I think planning is a big part of the fun, especially planning for food! I thought about doing the DxDDP but decided it would really be too much food so just the regular DDP for us. The way I see it the people going with you can offer opinions but since you are the one doing the planning you get final say on the ADR's.
I have our ADR day (June 3rd) set on Google calendar and that links to my cell phone so it will make noise at me to remind me, not that I think there is a chance I would forget.
I'm so glad to see that I am not the only one who thought about taking the day , or at least the morning, off to make their ADR's! I was really thinking I had gone a little nuts with that one. We are staying on the club level and I was thinking I could just let them do it but I think I would rather do it myself to make sure it's done right (control freak, me, naww ). Good luck with your ADR's, hoepfully you can get everything you want.

I am also planning my ADR's already and have changed my mind on restaurants a few times already. Hopefully I will have my mind made up by June

our family are planning to go disney on Dec 2010! to see some christmas lights!

I don't think that makes you a control freak at all! (Or if it does, I am too ) I would do the same thing. I'm sooo detail-oriented (thanks to many Nancy Drew books growing up) that when I do something I double and triple-check to verify accuracy, and I know that the rest of the world is a lot more sane and doesn't do that, leaving 0.1% chance for error . . .

No, I am not a control freak, not psychotic, not a perfectionist . . .:rolleyes1

:offtopic:

ANYWAY-we were talking about ADR's :goodvibes

So, another reason I'm selecting the restaurants is that hubby stresses too much about stuff, it truly would cause him anxiety even to pick a few of the restaurants. I'm reminding him many times that we're on the DxDDP and it's pre-paid, so don't worry about the menu prices! So, I truly am saving him the stress that he would be under. And we've been married eight years (it'll be more than nine by the time we go), so I can truly say that I know what he likes. I've shown him the Narcoossee's menu (which he LOVED), and I plan to slowly show him more. Also over the next 9 months take him to different restaurants w/similar cusiine (esp. since we'll be eating at WS a lot) so that he starts to get excited.

Whoohoo!:cool1:When I booted up my laptop this morning I noticed on my Disney Time countdown, that we only have 300 more days! My dh thinks I am nuts. I first started planning our trip in March of 2009! I knew my fellow disboard folks would totally understand.

Sweet, 300 days! That is not too much when you've already been planning for over 300! But then I think that'll make you enjoy it all the more.

:cool1:

Dec. 5-11 at Contemporary. I splurged and went for the Magic Kingdom view. DH has no idea how much more it costs, :rolleyes1 but I've already made payments to pay for about 1/2 the trip already. DD will turn 3 while we are there. I am so excited for her (okay, for me!) so I'm going to book the BBB makeover and dine with the princesses at CRT on her b-day.

I have already made spreadsheets of different scenarios with my dining and park days. I spend hours, I mean HOURS, reading the DIS.

I CANNOT wait! :cheer2: If I'm this obsessed 10 months out, what am I going to be like the last month.

I just booked today for Dec. 10-17 at the Poly!! It is also our first non-summer trip. We usually go in Sept. and take advantage of free dining, but everyone wanted to see the christmas decorations and have some cooler weather this time. So, I booked with a 40% off room discount. :woohoo: Hope to see you there!!

I totally agree. Now if I could just get a pin code for December so I can add a day or two to our trip.
