I currently have reservations at BLT (Home Resort) for July 2010.

I would like to change to Dec 26, 2010 for 7 days ( 1 bedroom).

If I book at 11 months exactly will there be availability?

I am concerned because we want to arrive the day after Christmas.

Would it be smarter to arrive the 23rd?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

It depends on how many units are declared by then. Currently, less than 50% of the resort is available for members. Booking at 11 months will help, but having additional rooms in inventory would also help.

As long as you have the points available in your account when you want to make the reservation, you should have no problem getting what you want at exactly the 11 month booking window. You would call for that reservation on January 7, 2010.

I'm new to DVC so need to ask you a question on what you just posted.
If the OP wants December 26, 2010, why isn't she calling on January 26, 2010? Why is she calling January 7?
Thank you VERY much.

jan 26 is correct. i'm pretty sure jan 7 was just a mis-type.

to the OP,

even if you had to waitlist it, i think your odds are still very good if you call on jan 26.

Thank you. Just when I thought I finally got the calling thing down, I thought I got confused again :goodvibes
Thanks.

Sorry, typo...

Best guess is that if you call exactly 11 months out you should not have a problem getting what you want. Note if you are really concerned "walk the reservation." For example call Jan 24, 2010 and book Dec 24 arrival to Dec 31 departure, then call Jan 25, 2010, drop Dec 24 and add night of Dec 31, then call Jan 26, drop Dec 25 and add night of Jan 1.

I thought about that. Is that common?
Not really as it is seldom necessary.

There are some who will walk Christmas - New Year's Holiday reservations. NYE is the most difficult night of the year to book a DVC villa.

Ohh! NYE this year I will be in a one bedroom BW view! My first NYE at Disney! It is going to be crazy!!!

Well, maybe we'll run into each other at BLT because we'll be there in 2010 from December 18-January 1. I'm very very excited about spending the holidays at Disney. We've been in early December (for 3 nights before a cruise), but I know I'm going to love having lots of time to take in all the holiday decorations and festivities. :goodvibes

Here's hoping both of us have an easy go of making our reservations. :thumbsup2
