December 2009 anyone?

DH and I just got back from Disney on Aug 17th and I am already making plans and counting down until our next trip! We are gonna TRY for December 1st - 13th. It will be our 1st time going during christmas season and our 1st time staying DVC! We are buying DVC in the next 2 or 3 months. We will be staying at AKV! Reason why I said TRY and not will be going, is because Im not sure when DH will be getting deployed next year. Hopefully NOT during christmas season again.

So whos with me? Anyone else going December 2009? Lets talk about Disney, our plans, etc to help make time fly by!

Hi. We're hoping to go in December 2009, probably the second week. We usually go at that time, although I just took my oldest (five-years old) in May. I think early December is perfect and have become very spoiled by going when the crowds are low and the weather is cooler. The only thing that might alter our plans is that I have to start working again (I'm a stay at home mom right now) and I'm a lawyer so who knows if we can vacation then. But, I'm really going to try and make it happen.

I WISH I could buy DVC. Lucky you!

This DUCKY is going from November 30th 2009 till December 13th. We have been planning the trip since 1999 (job lay-off and 2 kids thru school changed plans) been actively planning for almost 3 years now. As soon as I called and booked the trip i couldn't sleep for close to a week, just what am I gonna do when it gets closer

I am spending some time everyday reading dining reports and dreaming of places to try out.

we will be staying in POR, king-sized bed, parkhopper passes AND deluxe dining plan. I am so pysched

Ditto for myself and DH. We are planning a 25th wedding anniversary trip next year around 11-30--12/5 w/o kids. I haven't booked anything yet. I'm "thinking" either Pop or renting points for a DVC studio room. I CAN'T WAIT!!!! I too am reading these boards too much. Its a terrible addiction. Is there a support group out there? My DH and I are fighting for the computer. Myself for the dis boards and he for his fantasy bb and fb teams. Hope we make it to 25 years! Anyone want to suggest where we should stay. I'd love to hear anyone's opinion. Here's to next December!!!!! We can't wait. Happy planning to everyone!!!!

I'm there...Just booked for Christmas 2009 at WL CL. 1st time for Christmas and CL so i'm really excited.. My only problem is I have a 17 year old so we have to wait till school is out which is when it will be very crowed. But that's ok cause at least we will be together. Plus, it's not our first time to Disney so it's not like we have to make sure we get to each park. We just want the Christmas feeling and relax....

I'm here as well. We're going Dec 7-Dec 15, 2009, staying at Wilderness Lodge. I'm taking my two daughters 25 & 11 and my mom. We've been before but my mom hasn't. I'm really excited, yesterday I actually booked my trip. So I've started reading my books again and reading the Dis boards, although I never really stopped checking out the dis. I've even given my mom a copy of the Unofficial guide so she could share in some of the planning. If I'm this bad now, heaven help my family next fall.

Hi. This thread is slow. I guess we're all a little early. I just booked Ft. Wilderness cabins for 12/6 thru 12/12. I really wanted Wilderness Lodge, but we have three little ones and I need some space. The cabins are so-so, but I really love Ft. Wilderness, especially at Christmas, so I'm pretty excited!

By the way, does anyone know when Pop Warner is in Dec. 2009?

I've never been to Fort Wilderness. We looked at it last summer when we went but we decided to stay at POR. This up coming trip, my 11 DD really wanted to stay at Wilderness Lodge. And since it's her 13th birthday next December 31 and my mom's first visit, I decided to let her have her way. I'm really excited. But even I can't believe I booked our trip already. I had called Disney reservations because I received a pin code with the dates for my vacation next year on it. But it turned out that it was for this December so I couldn't use it, but I was able to book my trip. I was told that if any discounts come up, I would be able to apply them to my reservation.

I just changed my reservations and I am going Dec 1-8,2009 and staying st POR. To OP we pray for your HB and that you will be able to make the trip. I've been for Christmas twice now and I really do enjoy it even if it rains which did happen twice last time 2006 just make sure you carry a poncho as you never know.

Hello!! We went to Disney in Sept. 2007 and since we returned I have been planning on our next trip. Since we visited the WL last year we knew we wanted to try it out. And I wanted to see Disney all decorated. I booked back on 8/14 with AAA. I wanted to be sure we had the dates we wanted at the resort we wanted. Plus it gives us plenty of time to save and pay off our vacation. And I am a crazy planner when it comes to Disney.

So it will be me, DH, DD, and DS from 11/27/09-12/5/09 at WL. I am so excited! Good to know I am not the only one booked for next year. At the time my AAA TA said I was officially her furthest out booking ever.

We're arriving in the 7th of December, also at WL, so we'll just miss you. I also can't wait to see it all decorated for Christmas. I booked about 2 weeks ago and just received my reservation confirmation in the mail yesterday. It made it seem real when I opened the envelope and saw how much I still have to pay for this trip. Up until then it didn't seem real. It's okay, I have a whole year and a bit to pay it off.

I am so glad to have found this thread! I have been planning to plan a trip (does that make sense) for December 09 for the past 2 years. We are going to celebrate our oldest daughter's 4th birthday, which is the 18th of December, but I think we are going to try to actually go the first week of December. We actually just booked a last minute trip for this year, but our December trip is going to be the big-daddy-all-out-splurge trip! Everyone around here thinks I am crazy because I have been talking about a Dec 09 trip for over a year now! Glad to find some other people like me! I haven't booked anything yet for several reasons-I am a teacher and am waiting for our school calendar to come out for next year, and we are planning on taking grandparents and I need a firm commitment from them before I book.

I need you guys opinions on where to stay - we are thinking either WL or AKV- DD LOVES animals which is why we were thinking AKV with a savannah view, but I love the thought of being at WL with all the Christmas decorations - plus it is closer to MK which is where we will spend the majority of our time. We are also thinking about trying to rent points, which we have done before. What are your thoughts? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

WL is just beautiful and the boat to the MK is a huge bonus. I would definitely pick WL.

I'm planning to TRY to grab 3 or 4 studios in any of the DVC resorts for the week of 6th thru 11th - may go a little longer than that depending on my dad's schedule. SSR is my home so I'll start there and I'm almost certain that's where will end up too since that is such a busy time for DVC members. If less people decide to go along and we only end up needing two of the studios, then I may make the trip a bit longer because I could use the relaxation. It really depends on the family members I'm bringing along.

I look forward to seeing all of the holiday decorations and plan to spend some of my time at the resorts looking around.

We just returned Aug 28th and I miss the world already. We'll be at the Poly Dec 10-12, then our first ever Disney cruise continues through the 16th. My DH just asked me to add 2 more days onto our trip and he wants to stay at the GF. Dec 8 & 9. This is a special trip for our 20th anniversary where we plan to renew our vows and our 18 yr old DD will be there also. So many plans, so many things to do at the world during the holidays.

We are!! It will be my dd's senior trip! Right now, it's a just a Mom-Daughter trip, but 14yo ds is beginning to have a green-eyed monster peek out! He doesn't want to be left out of the fun!! I think we are planning the 2nd/3rd week because both of us will taking our finals for college.(she-dual-enrollment, me finishing my AA). Sooooooo...I guess it's both our celebrations!

We are unsure as to what we want to do....do we want to stay at a deluxe resort only, and enjoy the amenities...OR...do we want to stay at a value and get tickets? Decisions, decisions! Oh, to win the lottery between now and then!!

We just got back from going with the kids DD (2) and DS (3)...
There is sooo much we wanted to do but couldn't with them...
I would love to go at Christmas time... So unless really bad things happen with the economy...

We've got a December trip planned. We'll be there from December 14th-20th. Really looking forward to our trip. My adult niece and her two daughters will be traveling with me. The girls are 11 and 9 and neither have been to WDW before, so it should be great fun!!
