December 2009 - A Celebration of many things

Oh Halloween would be so much fun! Wish me luck with a bounceback offer and we'll go back next Sept/Oct!

Interesting on the ADR stuff- i never thought to ask for a different party size, but totally makes sense. and very sweet of you to call back and adjust.......it is getting competitive out there for sure. I think folks are just more educated these days and hear from friends that they need ADRS where in the past, folks were more clueless (except us, of course!!! lol)

I totally am with you on this. Last week, I started a part-time job on top of my to make extra vacation cash. I work 8 hours, then am off for one hour, then start my second job and am there for 4 hours. I've done it for 6 days now, and it's kinda kicking my butt! DBF is worrying about me. I told him the same thing, though... It's just for extra Disney money, and if it gets to be too much for me to handle, I'll quit. I'm realllllly going to try to hang in there and let myself get adjusted to it, though... the additional paycheck is so very nice!
wow, you guys are tough- i can barely handle my one full time job and my family- i can't imagine two! you go girl!

I gotta come clean to Mickey :rotfl2:

I'll call tomorrow...
:rotfl2::thumbsup2

I pre-ordered ours back in May... there was an awesome deal doing around the boards. I think I paid $120 for the CD and the deluxe book. I was worried that I would be ordering too soon, but I called and was assured that if the code I received had expired when I went to claim my pictures that I could have it reinstated with a simple phone call. So I decided to save the arm AND the leg and pre-order, I'll deal with the phone call when the time comes!

So I say, pre-order when/if you're ready!
i did the same thing- i ordered it back in like May- there was a large discount back then but it expired i think end of May or something. i ordered and still have the emails- i called to, as I had heard stories of people ordering 'too early' and then getting there and it not working. so i checked and hopefully we won't have issues.

i say DEFINITELY do photopass. My DH hates having his pic taken, but he actually took some of the PP ones on our last trip and even smiled. And don't be shy about asking them to take your pic. I know when i was a CM, i always went out of my way to ask guests if i could take their pic for them (this was long before the days of photopass back in 96). heck, i still do that out of habit whereever i am. I think you will really like having PP

love the halloween pics- how great and what a sweet memory of your Uncle to wear that costume! :wizard:

GOsh, I love those past pictures, they are so cute and you both look so happy. I honestly can't wait to meet ya'll.

I say to go with the photopass, I have always wanted to but just can't seem to find the extra funds to do it. Ig DH and I ever go back I will definitley do the photopass, I realy think it is a hassle free way to do Disney. I always worry about handing my camera over to strangers, and alot of the times I'm not in the pictures because I am always taking them.

Thanks!!! We just had a ton of fun on that trip. Halloween is so great, I wish we had "trick or treated" more and also I have no pics of the Halloween parade! :scared1: It was really such an awesome parade! We really did everything when we were there. It had been so long since I had been, we really got the full Disney experience.

We can't wait to meet you either. DH Greg is a little shy at first, LOL I carry the socializing part of the relationship. But I'll let him know it's cool to be himself around you, which is shockingly quite the opposite of the shy reserved guy people meet at first!! :lmao:

#1: If they still did the dress as a pirate pix...my whole family would totally be in on it!!! We did the Pirate and Princess party two years ago and had a blast! DH who does not love Disney even wore Jack Sparrow head piece!
#2: I am loving the past past pix! Don't you just love looking back at what we thought was cool to wear when we were kids and think...REALLY??????
#3: Your flapper costume is GREAT! I love it!

I know I am totally bummed about the Pirate picture being gone!!! And I know what you're talking about with the clothes. That was 1990 and I remember my little stone wash denim skirt and jacket, which had shoulder pads in it!! :scared1: LOL and the fanny pack!! it just kills me!! Thanks for the compliment on the costume! He had some great ones, but the flapper was always my favorite.

Oh Halloween would be so much fun! Wish me luck with a bounceback offer and we'll go back next Sept/Oct!

October is such a great time to go, we had so much fun, and the MNSSHP is just a blast! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, and me!! I'm hoping to get back for maybe 4 or 5 days in May for Greg's 30th (old man!!!) :rotfl2:

wow, you guys are tough- i can barely handle my one full time job and my family- i can't imagine two! you go girl!

:rotfl2::thumbsup2

I don't have any babies to take care of, if I did there was no way this would have happened. And I promised DH the the second it got to be too much or we felt we had no time together I would get rid of it, which has sort of started to happen. It's hard working 8 hours and them going to work another 4. Since we don't really need the money DH is trying to get me to get rid of it. We will see!!

Okay, you guys have definitely convinced me. I just think it would be so much easier on us and we'll actually get some nice shots of us!! Thanks for your help and advice everyone!!!

I'm sure if i had a family, I wouldn't be able to do two jobs! I'm doing it now while I can. :cutie:

I hear ya' girl!! But it is definitely rough, I'm starting to feel it already and it's only been a few weeks!! I may have to tell them it's a little too much for me with a full time job.

So I was in a rush yesterday when I posted, we were headed out the door for dinner with Greg's brothers and sisters. We're a crowd because Greg has two brother and a sister and we're all married and we have 5 nieces and nephews, I think I've told you this before. Anyway, it was good times. My SIL is having a baby in February and I love seeing her belly getting bigger. LOL I love pregnant women, they look so cute!!!

Anyway, so here are the next few trivia questions on our countdown. I hope you're all enjoying them, I thought they were interesting and I love learning about new Disney stuff!!!

Day 55: What is the only animated Disney movie that is over 2 hours?

Day 54: In the first scene of Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress, the setting is what occasion?

Day 53: What is the name of Captain Hook's helper in Peter Pan?

Day 52: In this attraction your ride vehicle "bounces" during a certain scene.

Cheap Chic Tip: 1) I have heard that it is not uncommon for people to share TS meals. If the portion is big enough and you feel like sharing, why not!?!?

2) If you have a special skill, exploit it. Greg is VERY good at writing resume's and we came across someone that needed a really sharp resume. We got $50 from it!!!

Yeah, I'm feeling the burn, too. But depositing that extra paycheck in to my account each week somehow makes it all worth it. At first I was only supposed to be doing it to fill in for somebody until she comes back from vacation at the end of the month, but I've been offered to stay through the end of the year if I'd like to. I wasn't going to accept at first, but I think I will tough it out until the end of November, just for the extra Disney spending cash. The more money in our pockets, the more fun we can have, I figure! And since we likely won't be able to go back until 2011, I want to squeeze every moment of awesomeness out of this trip that I can. That being said, I'd really like to be able to just go and have a good time and not be having to stress out about spending over mickey ice cream bar or souvenir that we buy. :goodvibes[/quote]

LOL I love pregnant women, they look so cute!!!
Aren't they!! :cutie: I need to hurry and get knocked up so I can have some of that cuteness for a while! :rotfl:

It's funny you mention this. A friend of mine is trying to persuade me to start do free-lance work for printing companies, doing their layouts and typesetting. She remembered that I used to be ridiculously good at that kind of stuff (did some award-winning poster designs in college, actually), and recently she got into that type of thing. She was saying that she makes an extra $100 a week or so just working with a few local printers who send her jobs... business cards, brochures, marketing materials... and she whips them up, sends back the files, and gets paid. I'm very very seriously considering looking into this! Would certainly beat the he!! out of working part-time in a factory for my extra Disney money!

So I went to Target today, they only had one pair of Disney socks and it was Minnie Mouse, I got them cause heck, it was only a dollar. But we have a store here called 5 below and I can get Disney socks 2 for 5, I am hoping they get in some Kermit ones as he is my first love. Seems like the muppets are slowly making a comeback. I would love it if they were to come out with a new movie.

They're not a $1 bargain, but...

Kermit Socks!

Aren't they!! :cutie: I need to hurry and get knocked up so I can have some of that cuteness for a while! :rotfl:

I know, I just love a good preggers belly. My SIL is due in Feb and I just saw her on Sunday and I'm all excited because she has an actual belly now. This is their first, which is sort of exciting because it means Greg and I aren't too far behind. And, because we're crazy we already have our names picked out, and now we know BIL and SIL won't take them. Their names are Ryan and Allison. Nice names, I wouldn't pick them but still, for awhile they were looking at Dexter for a boy. LOL I'm glad they changed their minds.

:goodvibes Maybe I'll see what NY Target has. ;) The Kermy lovers of the world must unite!!! Another Muppet movie, oh I would hardly be able to contain myself. I think that I may put the first 3 seasons of The Muppet show on dvd on my Christmas list.

I've had my first daughter's name picked out for about 10 years. But I change my mind on boy names all the time.

Oh I have a friend that is due in two weeks and she had picked Dexter too! I was really glad they are having a girl!

Share your names you have picked!

LOL! :cutie:

My baby girl will be "Olivia Gabrielle." princess: I will stab the man in the face who tries to name our daughter anything else.

My baby boy (this is subject to change at any time) will be either "Noah" or "Dylan." pirate: Middle names To Be Determined. Maybe I'll let the Daddy have some say in that part. :lmao:

Those are sweet :goodvibes

My daughter is Madilynn Kathleighn (Grandma's middle name was Kathleen, mom's middle is Leigh) and our son would/will/could be Cortland Hendrix (DF loves Jimi Hendrix, so I found a nifty way to incorporate it)

Okay, I've heard that you shouldn't tell people that are close to your real life (as apposed to my DIS life :lmao:) because there could be name thievery. Like I would never tell my SIL or any of our other family members what the names were because if someone slipped and then the name was stolen there would be a preggo throw down!!! But as I said this is my DIS life so we're safe.

So our girl name is Anja Renee. Anja pronounced like Anya (with a long A sound), but we're weird and want to spell it with a "J". Renee is after my dear friend that passed away. And our boy name is Gavin Richard. Richard is after my Dad.

That's pretty! Just... you know... don't be surprised if both you and your daughter spend the rest of your lives having to routinely tell folks, "No. It's An-ya. Not An-ja. No J. Just say it 'Anya.' " :cutie: I've spent the majority of my existence having to correct people on a regular basis on the spelling of my first name, but I'm happy to report that they (usually) get the pronunciation part at least! :goodvibes

Can I hijack your PTR to offer up a Cheap Chic tip for our fellow DISsers?

Cheap Chic Trick: Buy "Today's Meat" (the meat with the sell by today's date stamped on it). I bought 2 packages of sliced steak for stir fry ($3.79 & $4.54) and 4 packages of turkey meatballs ($3.49 each) today. They all had the "Today's Meat" sticker on them. The total before the coupons ($1.50 on the steak & $2.00 on the meatballs) was $22.29 - but after the coupons I paid $11.29! :cool2: SCORE!

I came home, put them in freezer bags and tossed 'em in the chest freezer!

Made spaghetti tonight and tried the new meatballs (have never tried the turkey ones) and they were DELICIOUS! :thumbsup2

Hope this helps!!! :goodvibes
