December 2008 Code Watch

I'm posting this for those of you who weren't able to get your discounts yesterday. There is hope.

Yesterday, I wanted to cry. I called Disney 3 times in the morning ...no discounts were available for my stay 12/9 - 12/16. In fact, was told there were no discounts at any value or moderate properties left.

Today..woke up with a raging headache at 5:30 this morning...decided to call Disney back since I was up anyway. My discount was available and we saved $404.00...I was also able to obtain the discount for another family traveling with us and they saved 393.00. I asked God to bless the Disney travel agent I was so thankful!

So keep trying folks...there is always hope!

How were you able to save for the other family? I called last night was able to get the AP discount at POP for myself, but I couldn't get any specials for my Dad or son who are in a different room.

Same question! On our last trip, when I called to apply a code to my reservation, I asked if they could apply it to my SIL's as well, but they said she had to make the call herself, even though I had her confirmation number and all of her other info.

What time did you call? I called a little after 7am- EST and still nothing! WDW reservations opens up at 7am EST right?:confused3 I also got a clueless CM it took him 12 minutes to find my reservation even with the number and he no idea what a code even was?:confused:

I made changes to my reservations yesterday and applied the code to my parents reservations as well at the same time. I had all their information at hand.

Only thing I can say is call back and try another CM.

Also, I do know our reservations are linked since we paid both deposits with my CC and I included 4 adults in our party instead of just 2 and a child. Maybe that is the key?

Yes, that's probably it. SIL and I made our reservations separately. For our next trip, I made all the reservations and paid the deposit, so I was able to have the code applied to both reservations.
 
Well my TA couldn't get the discount for our days Nov 30- Dec 6 - bummer, I seriously will never go through a TA again, I get so much more info from you guys.

I have the other family's confirmation number and could verify their home address and phone number. In addition, our reservations were made at the same time and linked so our rooms will be in close proximity. Disney travel agents linked the reservations with something called a "travel with" number. I also had this number, but they didn't ask for it. I believe it also may depend on the CM you get.

Most be the CM I had. Because our reservations are linked and I paid the deposits for both on my CC. I'll give them a call back today and see what I'm told. Thanks.

I was able to apply the code to my parents' reservation. I made both reservations initially and the deposit for both went on my CC. The CM didn't hesitate when I said I wanted to apply the code to their ressie after he did mine.

I called at 7:03 a.m. today. Yesterday, I called and spoke with 3 different CM's...all in the early morning...and all to no avail. Over and over I was advised there were no discounts were available. Do you think it's possible Disney could have released more rooms with the discount today? Or is it that someone cancelled and I just happened to call at the exact right time?
 
Has anyone checked the diffence in price between the basic and deluxe dining plan? I booked with the code and saved, but then wondered what the cost would be if I had gotten the deluxe. When I called back. I was told to add on 30 per adult and 10 per kid. I guess the code discount doesn't change the cost of dining. I thought I saw an earlier post about a good deal with the deluxe code.:surfweb:

No, the code doesn't affect the cost of the dining plan. I may have posted this here, or in a different thread - I have two reservations for two rooms at the BC, one room with 4 people and one room with 3. Both include tickets and dining. The discount after applying the code was almost exactly the same (less than $1 difference) for the two reservations. So the discount comes off the cost of the room itself, not any other part of the package.

Ok thanks I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something! :lmao: What resort are you staying at? That may make a difference; we downgraded to a value; maybe we shouldn't have:confused3 ?
 
My AAA TA just emailed me with the new that she saved me over $150.00. With so many of you spending hours to speak to CRO, I have to give her the full credit. I wonder how long was she on hold this morning?
 
I am hoping they come out with a Disney Visa Code. My temp TA(regular TA on vac when the code came out). This TA was on the phone with Disney for 2 1/2 hours before she got through and they were sold out. It also doesn't help that it seems every hotel is booked for the time we plan on being there (dec 5-13th). I am going to call on Monday and talk to my regular TA and she if she can do anything with the codes as she seems to know alot more about Disney...
 
I´m curious. I have an existing ressie, made through a TA. The TA told me yesterday I couldn´t get any discount but I was wondering whether it was possible for me to keep checking on-line?
Does anyone know how to do this?
