December 2008 Code Watch

I got a pin code, the same one everyone is getting and since some of the dates fall in my dates I thought I could use it for a few dates.

The 11/27-12/3 would work for me and I know T-day has some blackout dates but my AAA agent said she called Disney and was 1st told that it expired on Aug. 2 (I didn't even get the code in email til Aug. 2) so I told her to call back (shouldn't have had to ask her to do that) so this time she said that there are blackout dates for around T-day and so it wasn't available but my trip is 11/27-12/7 so I think 12/1-12/3 should have been discounted. I'm not sure if Disney is telling her this not knowing what's going on or if she's not making an effort to help me. :headache:

UGH...:confused3 Last time I called Disney they said they couldn't see my reservation cause it's under AAA and I got into with the CM on the phone!

Anyone else have this happen? :sad2:

Are the pin codes from Disney or Disney Visa? I'm hoping to get one from DV and I thought they may be out around mid Aug. but it sounds like something has already come out.

If it's not DV, anyone have a guess as to when they will be released. I'm hoping my dates of 12/4 to 12/13 may at least give us a bit of a break on the cost. I have my fingers crossed!

Thanks!

The one I got was from Disney but I'm hoping for a Disney Visa one too since this one hasn't worked for me so far! I'm watching the DIS intently for codes from DV! :rolleyes1

I'm subscribing. I got a pin offer via email a few weeks ago, and I booked a value resort for a short post-Thanksgiving trip, November 30-Dec 3, but it was only 10% for room-only. We're happy to get that, better than nothing, but we would we more excited for a better discount. So if anything shows up, I want to be on top of it.

I did gt an code emailed to me, but not nearly as good of a deal as we have with the code that came out in Jan, for our Dec 7-14 trip... but I think the Disney Visa code will come out on Monday so I will try then! i am happy that I already have a great code, now I jsut want to try to switch resorts! lol!:santa:

I'm new at this code thing but of course i'm hoping for one. I have my disney visa. Do the codes just get randomly emailed to people?

Thanks,
Debbie

Ohh, does it look like the Disney Visa codes are going to come out on Monday?

The pin codes that are coming out now, are these from Disney Visa Card Holders? I didn't think the pins were going to be offered to the general public until mid-august.

The first round of codes are usually e-mail/snail mail pin codes, followed by DV, AP, FL resident, then Gp codes. In June AP codes came out first, so you never know which ones will come out first, you just have to wait and see.

I don't know anything about the pin code use, but Disney can't see a ressies a AAA agent has made, it has to go directly through their dept, so you agent has to handle all calls to Disney.

I am thinking they will be released between this Sunday, Aug 10 and the next week. I will stay closely tuned in for AP codes, over the next 2 weeks. I was under the impression they would stop on Dec 18, because holiday rates kick in on Dec 19, but I am now holding out hope that they will carry on over to at least Dec 20, cause that is our last night. Any discount is better than none.

Some people have said that they get an e-mail for DV, but Dh has one and we have never gotten it by e-mail, I always watch here for the code release, because here has been my most reliable source.

I am guessing they might, but probably not until Aug 18. Watch here closely between this weekend and mid August and you should be able to get one quickly.

I don't know about this. I had a AAA agent do my ressie but I called and did my own ADR's and a few other things and they had all my info.

We received our pin code today in my email but all of the allocated discounted rooms were already taken for Monorail resorts in Late November/Early December. She could get us in the Yacht or Beach Club but all other Deluxe resorts were gone. I even tried to change views, split our reservation or grab a club level room to no avail. Any ideas??

They can't see it in the system, but you are able to make your own ADR's and other recreation, but they absolutely cannot see your room/package. AAA has a whole different office that they deal with for room/package ressies.

I have had some real dealings with AAA recently and this was one of them. I knew this from a prior trip, but I also have to make arrangements for my HC mom and Special Needs wouldn't talk to me like they usually do, because the ressie is in the TA name, I had to get that from her, becasue she wouldn't confirm our needs that are a must (needless to say I got a new TA).

Our pin code did cover our dates which are from Dec14-Dec21. Hope that helps.

My only suggestion is to keep checking back at 7am EST every morning, when cancellations are released into the system. I read on another thread that there are no Deluxe or DVC resorts avail for that time.

I know the last 2 AP discounts didn't include the Deluxe resorts, but I don't know about the pin codes.

Good Luck

I certainly hope so. I am waiting for AP rates specifically, because I have the AP package with dining and that is the only discount I qualify for without having to purchase tickets.

Thank you

Hi! I'm eagerly waiting for a DV code too. We are planning to visit from 12/13 to 12/16 at one of the values. I am booking my resort today. Which one is usually covered for the Disney Visa code and what % do you usually get taken off your stay? Thanks!!

Take the YC ressie (so you are locked in the system with the pin code rate before it expires). Start calling A LOT on days 60-45 before the trip. A lot of people may have booked those dates early, but when they actually have to pay them off, might cancel. I agree with a PP about 7am being the best time to call. Good luck! :wizard:

I just looked at the DV site and the code they have is still for Aug/Sept/Oct, but it ends on 8/10, so start looking a few days after that.

Touringplans.com is reporting that the code will come out 8/14 and they expect it to go to Disney Visa holders first

Like Marvin Gaye, we heard this through the grapevine:

General public WDW discount coming Aug 14. Travel 9/24 - 12/23. Must buy room and tickets, and it's a discount on the room.

While that's the sum total of what we know, we expect a Disney Visa cardholder discount to come out a couple of days before that. The usual disclaimers apply.
