Hi, just clarifying some info if you don't mind, I'm new and am still learning. Did you already have your reservation booked when you called? I was wondering if once you have paid your deposit for a reservation at one resort are you able to then use that deposit to switch to a different resort?

HI! Not eyenjeff, but you can absolutely do this... I have been known (in the past) to change resorts 2 or 3 times

Hi and welcome to the Dis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately, discounts are rarely (if ever) given during Christmas week. But if you want to stay at WL for the hoidays book it now because that room won't be there long!!!

Got the 40% off code!!!! It was attached to our name and I kept calling and someone must not have paid their deposit or cancelled!
So we got the 40% off, we had to change our dates ahead one day to leave on Dec 7th and come home on Dec 14th but it was worth it for the discount. I did not know it was off the room only, I thought it was off the whole package price, but still a great deal!! Saved us alot on the room rate so hurray! Thanks to all who said to check with reservations for a code next to our name!!! So I will have to change my countdown clock for one more day but who cares???? We are going to disney and staying at the POLY!!!!!!!!!!!

Just curious, are you on the dining plan?
Is the 40% off only for "room only" ressies?
I haven't received an email offer, but I will call if it applies to the room/dining/ticket package.

Christmas Week through New Years is one of the busiest times at WDW. The first two weeks of December are traditionally known as slow times of the year but are becoming more and more popular.

I have been reading so many different things. We were planing on going Dec 6-13th but changed because of Pop Werner. I have no ressies yet.. I was going to hold off till I know I can wait anymore..

If you want WL I would book now as it books quickly in December b/c everybody wants to stay there due to the beautiful decorations. I would say that the first week of December or the third week would be your best bet to avoid crowds/high prices. That way you avoid Pop Warner (though staying at a Deluxe like WL you would have limited contact with them) and you avoid the crazy crowds and rates of Christmas week. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I wouldn't cancel due to Pop Warner. We stayed in 2007 when they were there and didn't even know it until we returned home. If you avoid their hotels (typically Port Orleans Riverside and All Stars), you probably won't be affected by them. I didn't notice them making any impact on crowd levels but I did hear about problems at their hotels, if they end up at POP this year, I'll just switch my ressie.

Don't worry about Pop Warner- that is when we are going and I am not worried at all! Besides, based on your dates, you will be leaving right as they are arriving.

The first 2 weeks of December are much less crowded than Christmas week or Spring Break if that is what you are worried about. It is just a lot of people want to stay at WL at that time to feel in the Christmas spirit. They won't offer any discounts at a sold out resort.
