Subscribing. Looking at going Nov 30 - Dec 7 but not sure where I want to stay/how much I want to spend. We'd have a 3yo and a 5yo with us so I'm thinking the WL might be a nice place with the MK just a ferry ride away. Is there a thread that has info on what kind of room requests are suggested for a MK view?

Pop Warner Week - The Pop Warner Superbowl and National Cheer & Dance Championships are held at Disney World in early December (tentative 2008 dates: December 6-13). The Value resorts and some of the Moderate resorts will be FULL of kids (both football players and cheerleaders). Expect a lot of noise if you stay there. This event can cause crowds and there have been some unfortunate incidents, including violent fights between teams.

I'm booked that week, too. I've read so many different opinions that I just don't know what to think.

Subscribing, looking to go the week after Thanksgiving, 11/30 - 12/5, probably Pop Century.

We stayed there this past Nov 07, my kids loved it. We used a code that came out in August, saved us about $300 on our whole package (dining plan, room, park tickets with hopper).

I hope the codes are good this year too

Question about Pop Warner week ...

We are staying in a Deluxe - the Wilderness Lodge. We also have young children - 5 and 6 at the time of our trip. We are definitely more the type to make rope drop, stay till about noon and then go back to the resort to rest before going out to an early dinner. My plan is to make this a vacation and not have the kids so exhausted that they are a mess by the end of the week. All that being said, how much of an impact do you think pop warner will have on us? Maybe those that have gone during pop warner in the past may have a better idea? I'm booked from the 4th through the 13th.

We did talk about changing out dates, but due to schedules and the holidays, we really don't want too. In addition, by going the week we selected, we will be there for my daughters 7th birthday. I would love for her to spend her birthday in Disney.

I have read so many posts - some claiming that pop warner week is a nightmare and some claiming they were never really bothered by it. I'm so torn on what to do. Any advice?

We were at WDW this past December (2007), when Pop Warner was there. We stayed at Pop Century and did not have any Pop Warner kids at our resort. I checked and it appears they were booked into All Stars and Port Orleans Riverside. I also read that they had a lot of problems at All Stars, such as fights, yelling, swearing, etc. I did not notice any problems in the parks, only occasional cheering. If I discover Pop Warner is using Pop Century this year, I'll switch hotels but not my dates: 12/4 -12/11.

Thanks, I think we are going to keep our dates. It's been 10 years since my husband and I have been to see the Mouse and I think I am more excited than the kids!

This is the first trip for the kids and I really want it to be magical!

From what I have read I think you will be okay you may here cheering in the parks but since you are at the Wilderness Lodge you won't be affected by noise at all there!

When we called on Sept 07 and the POR was sold out because of Pop Warner we switched. Now we are going 13-21 hopefully we can avoid most of the holiday congestion!

seems like the December codes some are getting are 12/7-12/15 or something like that. Is there still a chance that discounts for other times in December will come out sometime? Or do they pick a certain time, start sending them out, and that's it?
